I believe the car needs to be '06+ for those wheels to work due to the wiring harness. From what I was told anyways. If all you want is paddles then just get the paddles and swap them in yourself. It's not hard, just time consuming.

Not the paddles I'm interested in - the actual wheel .... 63 wheel is a TON better

I agree 100% the 55k wheel is an abortion. Depending on the year of your car you might be in for a fight. If you haven't looked at this option yet you definitely should.

I bought one in all leather and did the 63 paddle conversion and I couldn't be happier

Hmm thanks for the tip...

How is the leather feel + quality + look ?
What material would you consider the original 55k wheel to be - certainly not leather so it would be dramatically different I assume.

Please tell me how it works with "core exchange." I assume a refundable large deposit (like $1000 on C.card) ... ?

I am about ready to pull the trigger with that company but thinking more about their model "DTM style Flat bottom with EXTRA thick side grips"

However, love the black series CLK wheel but unsure about in the E55.... Ideally I would like something similar to E63 wheel - just perforated & thicker (no wood)...

Thoughts ?
Thank you

2004 E55
no

and i know posting new threads is tons of fun, but just about every question has been answered and discussed in great detail before. not trying to be a dick, you'll learn a lot more from searching b/c people get tired of posting about the same things and probably won't post.

^^^

I apologize. I used to be much more active on this forum when I had my original 05 E55. I then got extremely busy and left for a while, forgot a few things (knowledge of 55 + 63 platform poured together), and should have probably searched for a few of these questions....
However I have been busy selling a business, making a cross-country move, traveling often, purchasing another two vehicles, interviewing/hiring someone in my new state of residence, etc....

Thanks for your consideration and I will further look into matters prior to asking.

Kind Regards
