btw, I used to tutor one of the KSA's Fahd family members (they have a big estate in Coldwater Canyon in Beverly Hills.) Nice people and treated me well, but money was something they definitely had too much of; they could have easily bought Daimler itself if it was for sale, let alone have them build a one-off special AMG.

As it is, the UAE's Abu Dhabi Aabar Investments is one of Daimler AG's major shareholders.

it steered me away from the m platfom as well. trying to have a civil conversation and learn about the platform was painful on those forums...and it only got worse when they found out i bought the amg.

I knew it was time to sell my E46 M3 when I started seeing more and more teenagers driving them than adults. The whole culture has changed. I almost want to compare it to what happened with the Honda/Japanese car scene and how that went to crap.

Funny...People in here are put off by the camel comments yet in the same breath you guys lump all BMW owners into the same catagory based on what you read on the internet...can anyone say double standard ? I'm sure there are just as many douchbags driving AMG's as there are M3's. This thread is evidence of that. And for those of you who say you didn't buy "the other platform" becasue the online forums were filled with kids....PLEASE. Are you really going to say that your satisfaction with brand ownership is mostly based on the enjoyment you get by discussing it on the internet ???? If so, you need to get a life.
