Looking at an 04 with 38k miles... seems to be in really good shape. Nav, Keyless go and heated seats. guys looking for $28k. wanted to get your guys thoughts on good deal or no?

 

Miles are good (same as mine actually)...but run the VIN on carfax and at your dealer to see what work has been done on it and if ALL the recalls were done (I even think there is a thread on recalls you can print out from here...do a search).

Is the car local to you that you can put eyes on it?

I haven't looked lately at Blue Book value on it lately so you might want to start @ KBB.com to see relative pricing.

A couple of other things...

Is it modded at all?

Does he have all the service paperwork?

Check exhaust color at startup and idle:

-white smoke at start up is normal
-continuous white smoke might be internal coolant leak from a cracked head or blown gasket
-black smoke probably overly rich fuel situation
-blue smoke is usually oil consumption problem

Price out an aftermarket extended warranty...

I'd pay some extra $ for an independent MB mechanic to do a pre sale inspection.

Yea its local and my dad is going to check it out tomorrow, and well deff have it checked out before we do anything.. as far as price goes i thinks its on par.

 

Everything checked out at the shop and got it for 26.5. Cant wait to drive this beast.
