New Steering wheel, old actually but updated :)

So,i found this upholstery shop that did some great work on some of my Friends Cars.Porsches,Lambo's,BMW's,Mercedes etc.
So instead of going the same route everyone else seems to take, and spend up to a $1000 for a steering wheel.I decided to go my own way and re-do my steering wheel.I chose,Black Alcantara top, with grey line in the middle, perforated leather on the side and again Black Alcantara bottom. All done with Grey stitching to match the roofs Alcantara/Suede Headliner and Sun Visors. Here's some Cell Phone pics.I just picked up the car today and did not have time to take some nice pics. One is while the Steering wheel was still in the shop and the other when i picked up the Car.It is a high quality work.
The only issue i had was a stripped down Air bag screw, that gave us some trouble.

Pretty cool! Is the wheel thicker and does it feel thicker? Also, can they wrap it in wood overlay?

I don't know if you can tell, but i did have it padded a little bit. They said don't do too much because with time it will look worn out.I believe these guys can do anything.

Please either post the shops info or PM it to me. For $350 I'm very down to have this done.

Wow,Sorry Guys!
I just received an e-mail notifying me there was replies.

Ok so the shop that did it is called top stitch upholstery and they are located in City of LA.
www.topstitchupholstery.net ask for Anthony.Tell you saw the steering wheel he did for me.

It cost me 350$ and they were nice enough to take care of the labor for the screw that got stripped and buy a new one.Great Shop, great ownership.I'am not associated with them in any way.

The AMG emblem is a E-bay item, got shipped to me from California and i received it in about two days.It just sticks over your existing MERCEDES star emblem.

How long did it take them from start to finish to do the wheel? This is my only car so I'd be car-less while they're wokring on it.

I'm pretty sure I'm gonna go to them to get my wheel fixed up. Maybe if we get enough people they'll give us a good (better) price? Anyone down to try? I know $350 is cheap, but money's tight right now.

Anthony went way out of his way to accommodate me.And has paid for the labor of the problematic screw removal and new screw out of his own pocket. So yes i believe he would definitely give a discount.

Lol. It was just an idea. What was the problem with the screw? Is it a problem that all of our cars are gonna have?

Amd does anyone know how much it would cost to get the E63 style paddle shifters added? That and what the OP did to his steering wheel would be the perfect wheel IMO.

I know it was just an idea.I agreed with you and said that i'm sure he would do it.
The problem with the screw was that it was stuck in there hard and got stripped when they were trying to take it off.
I doubt it that everyone will have that problem.

Awesome. He probably learned from his mistake with your car. Sorry you had to be the guinea pig for the rest of us. Lol. How are you liking the new wheel? Is it a totally new experience driving the car? How do the materials feel? Thanks a lot for all the info, this is the one interior mod that I really want to do.

It made my interior space look so much more interesting.Along with the AMG pedal set it looks like a different car.The feel of the wheel is awesome.I could not believe that they could make it look and feel like this.It looks and feels like it is factory equipment.

What AMG pedal set did you get? They make a different set other than the stock E55 pedals?
