Which Header would you choose & why?

LET/EC, We know the price $2200, but does anyone have any HP #'s

MBH, We know the recent/temporary lower price $3000 and we know the HP #'s and they back it up with a Guarantee.

So if the ball was in your court which basket would you shoot at

MBH on the left and LT/EC on the right

Plain and simple, which one and why.

I don't have any info on Floored Fab so if someone does send me a pm with a picture and a price so I can add it.

Also, don't forget Floored Fab.

This is a good thread. I just went with Kleemanns, but am wondering if I left some power on the table by not going with a true long tube.

I remember there was a set of long-tube headers from Chris at Floored Fab that was sold recently by James for under $2,000 It was a great one-time deal. I think Marcus bought it at the time. Chris's headers make plenty of power as shown by Alan, Mikey, and others.

Between the two companies you listed above, MBH Motorsports would likely be the better option because their headers have been tested on so many different 55k cars and have been shown/proven to make the power they claim, not only on their dyno, but on customer's dynos as well. In addition, they actually offer you a money-back guarantee if you don't make the power claimed. You just can NOT beat that.

If you want to spend a little bit more, you can have RennTech build you a custom set as well

Mikey has an older thread out there with quite a few pictures of his Floored Fab exhaust, search it out.

I'm going to go with Floored Fab; local, honest guy, proven performance, etc. at a very competitive price.

I'm not sure who I would choose between EC and MBH? Both of their exhaust work looks pretty good. I'd probably lean towards MBH since they are local, but the price difference may give me pause. Glad I don't have to make that decision...good luck!

Here's how i would based my decision on these two.

1. How much gain does each headers yield? Or do they provide about the same?
2. I would weight each one and find out which is lighter and then go with the lighter one.
(question #3 is optional )
3. I would ask the girl in your avatar which one she likes? lol

E55, Supercharged Z4 (sold)
I chose Floored Fab because he has good prices and his headers are proven on the fastest E55's in the country. People have also vouched for his customer service and that means alot. Same goes for quality. Can't go wrong either way though.

answer to #1 we know what type of power the MBH's are capable of, not sure about LET/EC's or FF's.

answer to #2 does anyone know how much either of those headers weight?

answer to #3 I dont think she would care, she would most likely say which ever one you can stuff the most tree's in it

whatever is cheapest with install -- because it doesnt really matter -- all the headers gain a ton over stock manifolds -- and the difference between the aftermarket ones are not a big deal for a E55

Kleemanns are considered more a mid length header, but get in touch with Cory from Kleemann....cory@kleemannusa.com. His customer service is incredible.

Agreed on all parts.

I guess if you just classify headers into 2 categories (shorties vs. LTs), then the Kleemann headers are LTs since they delete the primary cats and aren't a direct bolt-in option.

If you want to peel back the onion further into "longer LTs" vs. "shorter LTs" - EC, Floored Fab, etc. fall into the "longer" category, vs. MBH, Kleemann, etc. in the "shorter" category. You can see it pretty clearly in the pics posted above, at least for those two alternatives.

To the OP, whatever you choose, if it gives you the performance/look/sound/price you're looking for, I'm sure you'll be happy.

well I went with Floored Fab. when the group buy price was $2500 and I'm pretty happy with them besides the install, its a lil F'ed up because chris had to do it from the ground but besides that they are great. At the time MBH didn't have their headers made yet but if they would have it would have been a very hard decision.

If that's what you paid for everything, you got one hellavua deal.

Kleemann M113 headers list for $1495, which includes the 4-into-1 headers and downpipes. Their ECU tune for M112 and M113 vehicles lists for $895. That's just parts - if you go through a Kleemann-authorized dealer, you should expect to pay a few hours' worth of labor for the header install. Still quite reasonable by MB/AMG pricing standards, but $1,500 out-the-door for Kleemann headers, tune, install, and dynos is the proverbial steal.

Well to me there are a few categories ...

Replacement shorties for plug and play..
Evosport / HEMS

Shorties with larger pipe into cat. HEMS with additional section between cat and header.

Kleemann etc style mid length with primary cat delete

True Long tubes like supersprint...

I reckon 80% of gains can be had by decent shorties

another 10% for mid length with cat delete ... (I think most of additional gains come from cat delete)

another 10% for full long tube setup front to back...

I don't really know what's better shorty getting the gases to the collector asap or long tubes that delay this a while ...???

Would like to know your thoughts on the added benefits and proportions..?
