Like everyone said, from a standstill, we do not stand a chance even versus a stock one versus a modded AMG.
However, they do lose up top. At the mile run ran in Miami, all the C63s did same or better than any stock GTRs (GTRs in the 160s range, C63 in the high 160 up to 180). Modded GTRs are killers though and the mods are inexpensive. One ran 190...
so from a roll, you may have a chance to hang in there, if you step on it first

Since dyno numbers don't mean much nowadays, I figured I would give some real (concrete) numbers live from the track that I have personally seen from a couple of GT-Rs during recent track events:
Fantasm ran an incredible 10.8x @ 130 mph in 1500 ft of DA and on worse-than-stock street tires He had the average mod package for these cars (don't know exact details, but I know it worked). He was ripping 10s throughout the entire event.
Similarly, I have witnessed 2 other GT-Rs at Famoso (at different events) going 11.0 to 11.2 @ 128 to 131 mph.

Here is what Fantasm has:
Esprit Downpipes (bigger than HKS DP)
Titek Resonated Midpipes
HKS Legamax Exhaust
HKS Race Suction Intake
Cobb Stage 2 91 Octane (out of box Cobb tune, no modifications).
Every time I see his name, this famous Fantasm video comes to mind.......mad driving skills..right?

We are probably heading (Me and my friend with the GTR) to etown either Wednesday or Friday, so your welcome to join us
WOWOW GOOD RUN. Nice to hear this. I know the whole deal from 0 but on a roll only 1 car length is not too bad. On rolls I like to start at 45-50 because its more in our power band. 40 is just a little low on 2nd and high on 1st.
I would love to try out a stock GTR 45-150 like I did with the 212 E63 .

Hey izzy, I was just thinking a lot of these guys think since I got the 2nd cat deleted / setup I should be gettn an extra 10whp. I was wondering since you didn't do anything yet if u would like to do a 50-120 run with me just to see if I'm actually puttn out a lil more power now.

if 10 was true every one would be doing it....
if i was to follow this then you would get 20whp from primary/second cat delete lol
but like you said a test is needed, and even if you beat him it comes down to a number of things, fuel, which gear was used, tired, rims, clean filter, car & driver weight etc

I'm going to start putting away my yearly bonus to buy Vic's GTR when he is done with it!!
Love GTR's, but kinda hate dealing with Nissan dealers.
Owned a G35 and Nissan Armada couple of years... and If I had a GTR I would try to find a mod friendly dealer and do most of the maint stuff with a private mechanic.

John from Broadway Auto here in North NJ took me out in a GTR he had worked on about a week ago. The thing was scary powerful, just HOOKED AND PULLED like nothing I had ever seen. No wheelspin, just full on *****-in-your-throat acceleration. I know John has built some fast cars, but I'd never been in anything that got traction like that, with that much POWER.

Ok I had 5 runs last night mostly all back to back with no cool down and my best run was a 12.49 @ 114.6mph with 2.055 60ft. I ran a 12.5 @114.76, 12.65 @ 113.8 and 2 12.8 runs. My best time was done with traction on (The 2 12.8 runs were with traction off and 2.3 60ft times)
My friends 2010 GTR had a best time of 11.6@120!The car is amazing! He backed that up with 3 11.7 runs and 1 11.8 all at 119 and 120mph.
There was another stock e55 there who's best time was 12.5@113mph.
There was a stock CTSV there that could not do better then 12.7 (Auto) and a ZO6 who's best time was 12.3 (Could not get traction)
All in all a great night. I am still amazed at how effortless the GTR runs 11's! Definitely my next car!

The GTR's front is horrible imo, I was considering one but I dont think I could stand to look at that front for more than a week without trading it in

Vic/Rock/Skyler...I am so seriously thinking of getting the GTR...you guys are killing me here!
My Z06 was "capable" of high 9's and trapping 140's. I'd be lucky to cut low 11's on street tires because it was just too much damn power for RWD. I need something with grip. Even my CTS-V is just overpowered. I got brand new tires on it and I have to baby the throttle all the way thru 3rd gear. The GTR just GRIPS. Man...I have a dilema now lol...
I have a feeling a test drive might seal the deal.
