Pulled the trigger, finally, on a '08 E63.
It's got just under 28k miles, black on black, Premium II and Parktronic. I will say, it's got more scratches than I thought a 2008 should, but it was also 10k under Kelly Blue Book and 14k under the NADA retail price.
There is a little crack in the drivers side mirror turn signal lens, so I have to investigate that. I finally got the Homelink working with our rolling code GDO. This is particularly funny since my wife's Infiniti FX hasn't worked for the 4 years we've lived here, but since I learned the trick, I got that programmed too!
I have to check on the tires. They are Dunlop and say "winter" on them. So not sure what I got there.
Since I have 2 years left on the Factory MB warranty, I'll be waiting on the extended. I'll be going with Chrysler from Mike Chase. Good guy, and he's local to me. I have the whole run down on warranty's, so if you're interested, PM me and I'll share what I've learned.
I will say, this thing is ridiculous fast. I have to learn to keep my mouth closed under hard acceleration, since the rear seats are being sprayed with drool!
I've attached some of the pics from Autotrader that were up there. It's kinda a crappy day here in the Chicagoland area, so personal pics will be coming.
I want to personally thank all of you out there who take the time to post on here. The information you provide is beyond valuable and is very much appreciated.
Thanks again, take care, and happy and safe driving to you all.
Todd
So I looked and they are Dunlop SP Winter Sport 3D. D'oh!
Now I still would have bought the car even with those tires on, but I would have liked to have known. Fool on me for not looking, caught up in the moment.
Worse part, honestly, is searching these darn forums to get people's opinions.
Michelle versus Pirelle versus Contis. Ugg!
.If it helps, the most popular tires I have noticed on the forum are Toyo's, Michelins, Nitto and Hankooks. A couple of guys run Conti's (including myself). I very rarely see Pirellis mentioned. All get good reviews from the people who run them but it breaks down to how much you want to spend, do you want extreme dry grip, want to run directional tread, care about noise, wet performance, ride comfort etc.
Once again good luck with the tire search (I say seriously use it as an excuse to get new wheels) and enjoy her
What sucks is I want to drive this girl. Now all I'll do is sit in the driveway, make vroom vroom sounds, and try to figure out the NASA sized computer stuff inside!

I would go with Michelins, they cost a little more but are worth it. I put PS2's on mine shortly after I got it last Summer, huge improvement over my OEM Contis. After you get used to the power, go and see the folks at Eurocharged for a tune, I believe they are local for you.
