Whats the engine issue?

Getting a block and installing it on a current engine is probably more expensive than getting an entire used engine.

Should be pretty darn close. All the 55 engines were pretty much carbon copies that were stamped out in Germany.

Long as he is using his exhaust, I think he should be fine.

Sorry you guys had trouble finding one. 55Kompressor motors sure aren't small block Chevys (meaning dime a dozen).

Can you explain more about what happened? Putting a crack in the E55 block is almost impossible to do

What he means is, we have yet to have a block failure. Your friend would be the first block failure we have ever heard of. Many would like to know how on earth your friend only needs a block? Even on engines with multiple blown pistons we still can reuse the block.

Yes.... the 55k engines are built like freakin tanks. This is the first I've ever heard of a damaged block and we have people on here that have pushed the limits to the extreme a few times

What exactly caused this to happen? Did he do any internal engine mods that lead to this?

Yes, all my years on the forum and this would be the first.

Quite a few cases of piston popping but even with those, blocks stay intact.

Just curious what he thinks happened?
