4-Zone Automatic Climate Control Display
Okay, first off, yes I searched!
So I just picked up my gently used '08 E63. The ONLY thing that I think MB failed on, is the climate control display. Not sure if it's me or the car, but if it's anything but dusk or darker, I can't see a damn thing! The glare is so bad and the brightness if like 10% of what it needs to be.
Anyone else have this issue and I've just never read about it or am not searching on the right terms?
Thx

Thanks. I think I'll be taking it in on some other things, I'll just add this to the list.

I'm faced with the same thing.
During the day if the automatic headlight calls for lights on the climate display goes so dim as to be unreadable.
Yes, it is tied to the dash rheostat but the lighting level is nowhere near the same. I wonder if there is a bulb or LCD within. perhaps a bulb out or bad connection?
Anyone else with further experience?
At night in full darkness it's readable although quite dim and bringing the dash to full brilliance helps but there's an uncomfortable difference.

Maybe this will help

Go to option 20 and change the brightness for the display.

Dox, so the cause of my problem was that the light sensor on the windshield wasn't connected corrected. This affected my rain sensitive wipers, headlights, and the climate control brightness. MB fixed this under warranty and it's fine now. I bought my used so who know when or what happened, but that was the fix for sure.
Best of luck!
