05 GTO, adding Kompressor soon ??!!!
Supercharged E63 ?

Does the 63 engine have anything in common with the 55 engine ? I'm sure somebody thought of this already, but how about the blower from a 55 on top of the 63 ?

The supercharged 63 project have been thought of and even tried a couple of times but then abandoned. To my recollection, there were a few obsticales: 63 is a high compression engine, so not too much boost can be used safely without beefing-up the internals a bit, the 7 speed (weaker) tranny may not handle the added power too well, and of course, possible issues with ECU programming.

O.K.; dished pistons and the 63 engine in the 55 chassis-same bellhousings ? There must be an airflow advantage to the 63's 4 valve heads besides the displacement...

Supercharged E92 M3
I think the tranny is the big issue!

high compression shouldn't be a problem

The number of items that would be required to supercharge a 63 successfully are cost prohibitive. It makes no economic sense. Read, you can buy and mod an E55 for what it would cost just to supercharge a 63.

The new TT55 motor will be a 4 valve and have a much stouter DC trans, The best move might be to trade a 63 on a new tt55.

Very well said and I completely agree with you, as I have looked into this intensively.... The key here is the word successfully. In order to supercharge or turbocharge the 63 engine successfully (and correctly), although still theoretically possible, is just way too expensive at least for the time being.

i think trying to Add FI to a 6.3 totally defeats the purpose of having the car IMO not unless u are a man on a mission .

Truth be told anyone who has a 63 couldve purchased a used SC or turbo car for a fraction of the value of a new 63 . a Turbo 911, a 55 and so on .

Im kinda on a mission but not that far as too try a FI application .
