Fog Light Mod

New Member - just brought my 05' E55 home yesterday!!

I did a search for how to get the fogs to come on when you start the car...so you don't have to turn the dial to DRL setting...is this a possible mod??

Any help is greatly appreciated!!

PM me if needed...

Thanks!

Funny, I just started a thread about this a few days ago in the CLS section. Getting them to turn on with the car should be easy, I'm more interested in having them turn on with the headlights.

Check out this thread for updates

It is possible. It's done on my car. The fogs are wired up so that they come on automatically with the headlights. My stereo guy did it and I have no clue how but just so you know it is indeed possible.

I know that's completely unhelpful for a diy'er but if you're knowledgable in wiring schematics I'm sure you could figure it out.

Sounds simple enough using a relay that triggers from the headlight. I could be wrong with all the gadgets our cars have. If its that easy, you can get relay from radio shack for a few bucks. Any auto alarm shop can do this for you. Same concept how the deck headunit remote turns on the amps. All of a sudden it sounds too simple and probably won't work for some weird reason.
