Tilt steering wheel is stuck up!!

Telescoping works fine. Tilt does not work at all. I hear the motor moving, so i know the motor is not fried. Maybe a belt or something may have snapped. Has this happened to anyone. I will be taking the car apart tonight, it would be good to know if anyone has ever had this issue. part #'s would help. Being that the wheel is stuck up(and i drive with it all the way down), it feels very suspect. I cant drive it like this. I browsed the archives, however there is no real feedback on this issue..

Steering column - Lower components - Gear assy - Coupling
Coupling 2003 - 2009

seems to be the culprit

I have the same issue. I found your post in the process of searching for a solution. Did you do the repair yourself, or hire someone? I am afraid of opening up my dash, just want to know if there are lots of little snaps and things that don't end up working right after they are opened.

The only thing I know for sure is that I am going to disable that "convenience" feature.

Thanks for any info you have.

power tilt-steering not working

Does anyone have any clear steps on exactly what to remove (and quite how to remove each part) to get access to the tilt steering gears around the power tilt motor?

Please also PM me w/ that info.

Thank You

BTW, I have searched hard every forum but not found clear DIY guide. While this seems to be a common problem on power tilt steerings.

I have this exact same problem now. Was the P/N 2034620678 the actual part that failed and how much did it cost? I might try to fix it myself. Any info would be appreciated.
