e55 question

a while back my girl friend rolled down my window with the key fob. we had no idea how she did it. in my last car all i had to do was hold down the unlock button to roll down and lock to roll up. i tried the same thing over and over again.. but all i do is turn on the fog lights.

Make sure you are aiming the fob at the drivers door sensor when you are trying it.

+1 You have to be within 1 meter or so from the fob on the driver door. I've tried from a far and doesn't seem to work.

Hmmm interesting. I'd say just try again at the driver door. Should work.

you have to press the unlock button once and then press again and hold. That rolls down ALL windows and opens moonroof.

Same thing for rolling them up but with the "lock" button instead of unlock.

look closely at the exterior of your front door handles. small IR receiver.
press and hold the open/close button. you'll need to stand closer during
brigh sunlight....can stand further back during night.

Sometimes the programming gets lost.... I was always able to do this on my car then all of a sudden it just stopped working, then I took it to the dealership and they reprogrammed it I guess. Did you happen to disconnect the car battery or key battery between the time it worked and the time it didn't by any chance?
