Getting Hi-Octane race only tune this month w/MS109

Turbo's love high octane, so do Kompressors so I figured I'd find ALL the local stations serving 100 octane or better. Found a great link for ALL CA/Nevada areas.

As things develop info will be released where to buy these tunes w/pricing, you'll have a programmer you buy & can literally just flip a switch between 91/100/109/ (or make your own configurations) (Best yet, Valet mode, no more joy rides, sets car to not run any higher than 2k RPM's)
Hope this helps some of you power fiends, the list below in link was just updated May 8, 2010

When I checked last month, the Agoura 76 station on Dorothy Drive changed their limited hours to 24hrs a day! Kind of strange in that quiet little town, but just across the bridge there is also a gas station selling Trick Racing Fuel 100 octane at the pump.

Sean, what's your best ET and mph on your pump gas tune?
Never ran her @ track w/current 91 oct tune, we'll soon see what she does on MS109, easily adding another 30+ rwhp Your records in jeopardy

God, I would hope so. You've got an awful lot of mods, so it shouldn't be a problem for you. I'm still stock with just a measly ole shelf tune and 20" boat anchors. At least you'll give me something to shoot for.

What was your best ET before this and what size rims were you using. Also do you know what the DA was between both runs? I'm just curious to see how much of a difference the wheels actually make.

We'll soon see what Sean will do but I would guess somewhere around 11.0's or better depending on his launch. Like you said, he has much more mods than yourself and you're already at 11.4's with 20's, gosh just think what 16" lightweight racing rims would give ya. I'll make sure to get a ton of videos of everyone and if they wish I'll post the results.

All I can do is to the way these 600's are coming up .

I know I love modding can't stop You need to be honest now bud you're NOT just STOCK w/shelf tune, it's a 93 tune, + you have BMC air filters & 3" cat back w/muffler delete (trust me the exhaust work adds ponies to these V12tt's)

Sean, I think you should run your car with 91 octane first at the track then run it again with 109 (using the same exact configuration), so that you can see and measure the difference first hand. The best way to learn your car is to collect data directly from your car with different configurations Otherwise, you won't accurately gauge the benefits from the high-octane gas.

My previous best was an 11.55@120 on stock 18" wheels with all-season Contis. DA that day was -275 feet. Car was COMPLETELY stock with just a shelf tune. Even had the spare tire and full compliment of MB accessories in the trunk, including the tire pump.

Current personal best is 11.40@120 on 20" wheels and ContiSportContact3's. DA was +30ft. Sean is right though, this run had muffler delete and BMC filters. Trunk was emptied.

Looks like the addition of weight from the wheels was offset by the reduction of weight in the trunk. Don't think I gained much, if any HP from the filters and muffler delete as my mph remained at 120. Hell, it's ALWAYS 120, very weird. I've made probably 25 passes at MIR between two rentals and 99% of the time, I trap 120.

And to add another slip to the mix, on Friday I went to a different track. Best was an 11.64@118. DA was +1618 ft.

Ok, you got me. Stock(ish) with shelf tune.

Actually, I'm not running 3" cat-back. I just had them remove the mufflers and fill the gap with oem size plumbing. I believe it's 2.5" or 2.75". Hell, you told me what it had, I had no clue.

With all the crap Sean has on his car, he should be in the high 10's. I have no doubt he'll be in that rare company his first time out. Providing, of course, he knows how to drive.

Just messin'.... Go get em, tiger.

Stock pipes on SL600 are 2.75" I can't guess anymore my head will explodeWhatever she runs will be posted/seen here w/Alan's help on vidz

Mo, I hear ya & agree that is the ONLY way to be certain what mod does what but @ this point I don't care what it'll run on 91 oct, 109 interests me more, the ONLY (2) mods I have left are Meth Injection & larger turbo's from SPEEDRIVEN/Marcin this SL will HOPEFULLY be pumping out 1000-1100 crank HP when all is finished

(these aren't AMGSC/Roberts wishes/broken dreams either) Marcin/SPEEDRIVEN makes ***** that straight up works! in a few months NOT endless years...

I'm a gambler @ heart lets run a watered down version of "pass times"

We can all winn & lose, buy in bet races $20 then like the real game whomever guesses the closest ET ONLY ET gets a win. We could do this for an hour or so, ultimate winner gets ALL LOOT!

It would def add to our already competitive nature & liven it up big time! Whatdoya think?

Great info Sean!

Was just curious though. Is it ok to mix and match these brands? I normally go to the one in Woodland Hills but found out recently that they've discontinued carrying VP's.

The one in Pasadena i think is a Sunoco brand. Ok to mix with VP? I'm bouncing between 100 and 109.

I live in Manteca and the gas station Frank's One Stop Union 76 located at 2072 W. Yosemite has 100 $6.35/gal and 110 octane which is $7.25/gal at the pump as of today. and the gas stations in Modesto,Tracy,Stockton I will try and verify in the next few weeks. and nice cars you all have very very nice looking. Franks 1 stop in Manteca ca

Cool update Keep 'em coming guys 110 @ pump is rare indeed in CA!

(Update on my MS109 ECU tune, I finally found a local tuning shop about 30 mi away from me that sells it by the gallon from there 55 gallon drums about $9 per gal, so I'll be going ahead w/hi-oct tune via/Jeremy early in June)

TS, I know I'm late finding this thread, but your thread completely came through for me. I'm out here in Henderson, NV and finally got to put some 100 octane into my C63. I mixed it with 91. I love the smell! Haha

what if u mix say half the tank 93 and the other half 109, or 1/4 93 and 3/4 is 109, will u need a tune ?

or is it safe to drive it like that? will hteir be some gains without a tune for 109 ?
