'04 E55 AMG
what a crappy weekend. i went to go fill-up saturday morning and after driving about a mile from the gas station, the car started shuddering and misfiring. the CEL also came on. I knew it was bad gas. so i struggled to get the car home where i removed the rear seat cushion and pulled the fuel pump cap off to find an oily substance mixed with the gasoline.
i spent all day trying to siphon all the gas out on both sides of the tank. i stuck my hand in and wiped up any residue i could possibly see. i went to go get fresh gas and used some lucas fuel system cleaner.
so far so good. no sign of misfire yet. maybe a slight hesitation down low every once in a while. just looking to run a good tank of gas through right now. i will replace the fuel filter and perform an injector clean when i get to work monday.
as far as the gas station goes..i kept the fuel and went back to the gas station where they denied that the bad gas came from their tank. they gave me a chevron hotline number which i will call tomorrow and see what they want to do.

I thought it was a rare color too until I bought one. There are 4 near me not counting a local pizza delivery E500 in the same color! Northern Va pays well to deliver pizza I guess :-)
