Nice vid. Car sounds great. You should delete the secondary cats now. I have my secondary cats removed but resonator in place. I would take the resonator off on my 55 too but with the meisterschaft mufflers I believe its going to be loud for my taste.

Windows were up. When cruising it is not loud. When you get on it now it has BARK. Now it is even more fun to PADDLE shift....especially a down shift. ;0)

Nah...any louder would be insane. It is really loud when you get on it. It will pass the snifer and puts a smile on your face. What more do you need??? A race car ear killing scream......this is nice guys and after this mod you will not need more.

W211 P030 E63 AMG // W204 C63 Coupe
im very interested in doing this mod to mine, but still uncertain about difference between:

A: No Secondary Cats & Keep Resonator
B: Resonator Delete & Keep Secondary Cats
C: Performance Cats / Headers??

Leaning more towards A/B. Cost Effective

But will this cause any power/torque loss? Change in back pressure?

its not really my area of expertise.. opinions / experience anyone?

His mama. Traded y0 mama in because she was squeaking.
I used to love loud exhausts. Nowadays... I must be getting old. Loud exhausts scream "hey, look at me! Pay attention to me!". I'd rather be able to go fast and be "quiet" than be loud and quasi fast.

But as long as you like it, that's all that counts.

I guess all the sports car high horsepower sedan lovers are just crazy to have some extra GRUNT. Quiet cars are BOOORRRING. Hybrid...quiet..smart cars....BOOORING....most guys who buy Porsches, Mercedes, COrvettes, M5's and others do it because it dos say hey I like fast, sleeeeek, professional cars with some GRUNT. Hence E63 BENZ!!!!!! Not E350 right? The lat week has be FUN FUN and that is what CARS are fun driving cars are ALLLL about. Now it is time to get that MFI flat six running to hear that engine PURRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!

They simply weld a piece of pipe in place of the resonators right? literally straight pipes?? What could cost more than $100?

I've got an appointment to "tinker" with mine this Friday. The guy said we should start with just cutting the mufflers off (stock E55) see what I think of the sound and go from there.

He said, sound differs from car to car (even for the same model car), so we could start with that, then see if we swap the mufflers with resonators, remove the center resonator. He said, we'd play with setup until we found the sound that I was interested in.

It's a family run muffler shop here in Denver for 52 years, and I spoke with the owner. He definitely knew what I was trying to do, and was suggesting other items (he also was considering drone). He was also saying depending on setup (it'd run from $100-$500).

So, I'll post up what I learn after that. Newbie to AMG's, but jumping in quickly.

Honestly, id just cut off the mufflers (e55) and call it a day. Just deleting the resonator didnt do much.

As for the e63 dudes. Its just 2 pieces of 3" piping, about 20 inches long, a few cuts, and weld and your game. Keep shopping around, the most you should pay is ~$100

@AWOL - That was the first thing he suggested (cut the mufflers off), he seemed to think that was going to be best. He was asking me questions, and commented that he had a setup in mind based on what I thought I was looking for and how I was talking, but we'd figure it out together. He said, plan on hanging out for 2-4 hrs, grab some coffee, drink and we'll tinker. That's my kind of shop.

Had a B6-S4 three years ago which had a full Miltek on it, loved it, great sound...looking for the same. We'll see.

Muffler delete and you are done. Will be nice and muscular with no raspiness if you leave everything else in place.

OP:
So let me get this straight, you removed the resonator and just put straight pipe in? There's no cross over or x-pipe?
Damn... I'm liking this a lot!!!

All the 63 needs is a resonator delete.. The 55 either needs new mufflers or a muffler delete to sound good.. Although ive heard a 55 with resonator and secondary cat delete that sounded good.
