FYI - some people on the Audi B6/B7 S4 (the v8 engine ones) had some things to say about the PES designed supercharger kit for their cars

Let's not forget about cutting off the "flaps" in front of the intakes - documented 5 whp. . . (I'm still salty you're putting down more power than me)

More good info about PES. It looks like they are creating quite a reputation for themselves.

Yikes. A buddy of mine had a PES tune on his 997TT and removed it because he just didn't like the way it drove.

Lol yea right! You get some traction and I'm gonna be chasing you haha. These cars just suck 60-130, or at least I know mine does

your a/f ratios could of been off from the exh leak, actually if you could hear the leak they were def going to be all over the place.

was the leak before the 02s?

Good point.
Did you install the header gaskets prior to the re-tune?

I was gonna said the same thing. From the way it sounds, PES did not put the gaskets between the headers and the heads. If that the case, your AFR is definitely out of wack because of the exhaust leak.

S/C V8 Audi S4
Sorry you had to deal with this, but I am not surprised to hear this. I own a PES S/C Audi S4, I purchased it with the s/c installed and couldnt believe the poor quality of work on the car. When I first purchased it, the car would start maybe 1 out of 5 times, the reason? The PES kit blew the first motor because of a leaking intercooler which hydrolocked the motor, when they replaced the motor they spliced in a wiring harness from a manual trans car while mine is an auto (I know, I know...). They had left a ton of open loops in the wiring and then left the ECU cover off while the car sat outside this winter for 6 weeks!!! The car really ran like crap, I saw water temps of 217 degrees! There also seemed to be a total lack of pride in the work done on the car. I understand it wasnt detailed up, but if you look on the left side of the motor you will see one of many closed looped wires that were just sitting in the engine bay as well as exposed wires going to the ignition coils.

I picked up the car right after it had sat outside like that and the car ended up going to a reputable shop to have the car properly fixed. It needed a whole new engine wiring harness as well as ton of other work to fix "flood like" problems from the car sitting outside with no ecu cover. I spent tons of time getting the car to run properly and I can say now its a solid performing car.

Just to give you an idea, here's a shot of the car the day I picked it up, I took this pic while I was pulling all the spark plugs to replace them to see if thats why it wasnt starting:

And than after a lot of this:

It now looks like this:

sure is...there are 2 employees there. Patrick is 50% of them. He's the 'brawn' of the operation, while Tony is the 'brains'

PES has set the supercharger market in the Audi S4 (4.2 V8) world back about 3 years with their undersized, underpowered, undercooled overpromising kit. Besides reliability issues, they've promised 160hp over stock, for about $8500+install. Should be 500hp when installed on a 3800 lb car. Of course those supercharged '500hp' cars run the quarter mile in about 12.9 seconds...so clearly the kit is making NO WHERE NEAR the promised power.

As for reliability, they've installed 5 on member cars in our Audi forums. They've all had trouble. If you read the 9 page story of DaveD's car (in the AZ thread above) it makes the gasketless headers guy look like he got off easy.
