what the heck is this?
Is it possible that this is some kind of Euro import AMG? I don't know the older ones, but I know you guys will - the guys description sounds like a crock:

back in the mid/late 90s my friend had a 500sel and was pimp driving in around. Dark tint and always had a case of XO courvoisier in the trunk. Sure was making $$ owning a couple strip joints by the navy base in Va Beach.

It appears to be just a black painted mutt with AMG body parts. And if it's "Euro," then why is the speedo in miles per hour ![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
The original "Hammer" was the W124 300E with an AMG bored and stroked 560SEL motor. It was a 300E with a 6.0.
This one's an okay car, but nothing special, imho.

Now THAT is a beautiful car. Porsche collaboration with Mercedes. My father in-law had a '92 then a '94 and to this day regrets ever selling them

The car posted by the OP on eBay is a 560SEL (chassis code W126) with a genuine AMG Body Kit and genuine AMG 16" Penta wheels. By the way AMG are considering bringing back a new 20" version of the Penta wheel in a three piece design for the SLS.
Back to the ebay black 560SEL it does not appear to have any AMG engine upgrades, and that body kit is unobtanium right now and very rare, it always looks great on these cars.
As an aside AMG actually offered a 6.0L quad cam engine and I would say more than 75% were fitted to the 560SEC and then upgraded with the AMG wide body look. There are about 100 or so of these cars in the U.S and the engines were about $30,000 (!) alone this was back in the 1988/89 and produced just shy of 400hp, which was a huge hp number back in the late eighties. I actually bid on a beautiful one on eBay last summer and got out bid at the last second, I was so upset, I went out the next week and bought my E55. The Quad Cam 6.0L 560SEC were notoroius for eating the cams and valvetrain but AMG also made a 350-370hp SOHC 6.0L engine that was offered that is very reliable and also super sought after.
I am on the hunt for a sweet 560SEC right now, they are amazing cars and one of the most beautiful Benz Coupes ever penned. Easy to work on, reliable and make a nice cruiser.
The W124 E500/500E speaks for itself, I looked into that black Euro car that 220S posted but the dealer is in love with it way too much, for the money they want for that car, you could buy yourself a low mileage Pano '06 E55 and install about $7grand worth of Kleeman upgrades. While that is probably the nicest one I have seen Stateside, it is destined for a collector, it has been for sale for what? A year I believe. I would love to have it and would take it over a 6speed E39 M5.
But at the end of the day....this would suit me just fine...
