Been attacked past 2 weeks on my Toyos!

Took the car to emissions. "Sir the car passed emissions but can I speak frankly. Those tires are totally bald on the edges. I mean how do you drive around on those??!!"

Me, " Look they are road racing tires okay. Bout 300$ a pop too. Can I just have my sticker please"

Next couple days guy comes up to me in the parking lot. " AMG baby!! Love that car!" Asks some questions and then " You not able to afford tires for this baby or what?".

"Okay these are Toyo 888s. Some of the finest racing tires you can run on the street. They are fine"

Tonight.....Mcds.

"Dudeeeeee, What is a Kompressor?"

"Its German for Supercharger. She's a beast for sure"

In teenager voice "buttt uhhh looks like tire-o mucho baldito"

"Look they road racing tires!!!!!!!"

THEY ARE ROAD RACING TIRES!!!!!!! (yelling with hands up in the air) $&@&)$&in ROAD RACING TIRES!!!!!!

Okay I feel better. Carry on

You need to rotate them tires more often. Love this thread. Going to try out a set of those tires as my next set in 295/30/19s. Hope they squeeze under as my fenders are rolled.

Jim,

You're in Salt Lake, the people that asked you are probably still wondering how you drive in the snow with those tires.

R888 are great tires! Nice and sticky. Don't worry about those people, they dont know what they are talkin about. I had them on my kinesis wheels for roadracing and some street driving in the summer. They are much better than drag radials in the rain too but still not like a regular street tire. They should be good for low 1.7 or even high 1.6 60's. They just have stiff sidewalls and would be worried about breaking stuff on the launch if you get too aggressive.

Keep in mind that the R888's run wide for their size.

Anybody have experience with the new Toyo drag radial? Last week I went to buy tires and the guy was trying to tell me the new Toyo drag radials are better than mickey thompsons. Wtf??? Then again that shop is well known for pushing Toyo over any other brand, they have some kind of deal with them

I love those tires. I haven't had them on my 211 personally just yet but I've been in cars with them on at the track and man oh man do they bite!!!

The only reason I don't have these guys on right now is that I'm not sure how they will do in the rain I daily my car and the additional grip would be great for the power I'm pushing but don't want to end up hydroplaning into a wall or a tree *knock on wood...
