takes a couple of tries to start motor???
my e55 takes a couple of tries to get it to start and when it does go it kinda stumbles to life. once its running, it idles fine and runs good. i have changed the CPS with no change and i cant smell any fuel leaks. has anyone had a problem like this? also, if i cycle the key around 4 or 5 times before i start it, it will light on the first go. im totally confused on this one.

His mama. Traded y0 mama in because she was squeaking.
If you cycle the key a few times before it fires on the first start, I'd suspect low fuel pressure.
Leaking injector pintle, dying fuel pump, or a bad anti drain valve... dunno if your car has one of them.
Next time, don't cycle the key. Turn it to position 2, and let it sit there for a few seconds (5-10) before starting. See if it starts on the first try.

So I spent some searching and just kinda came up with kinda the same stuff.
Couple quick points. I am all about covering the basics first.....any chance you snagged a bad tank of gas somewhere?
Once that is ruled out....how low is your tank right now? Found some of the guys that had similiar trouble only had it happen when tank was getting low.
Finally, check your cam sensor. It is in the front of the engine on the left side of the car as you stand in front near top of the engine. Quick swap out so before you start paying for insane price fuel pumps, that is worth a swap.
You sure you installed the crank sensor correctly? Just checkin. Good idea after all these to at least pop that rear seat out and have a peek at the fuel lines. Once you figure it out once, it's cake to pop out.
Here is the post with some good stuff on it.
