Holy cow! Just checked the DA at Bandimere today. 7733ft!!!

Finally, someone with worse DA than we have!

Sounds like a blast. I am dying to know what an E55 runs at 7733ft DA. Someone just has to go to this!

At our local events, the guys are super cool and we just shoot the gab about how great we would run down in Sacto.
Life in the mountains eh?

Yep, supposed to be in the high 70's on Friday so DA won't be as bad. I plan on making a run or two then hanging out. It is a blast.

That would be perfect. I'm headed down to Kleemann for a little TLC on Thursday... I wonder if I can get a hold of some DR's

Holy Cow! 7000+ DA is gross but you run where you can and much respect to you guys.

Live near Sacto is great and I wish more of you could enjoy the great weather, sea level, and the fast a$$ track Sac provides.

Jim, have you ever corrected your times down to sea level? I'm sure your correction must be somewhere close to the 10's? Maybe later this year you and the AZ boys could come play for a weekend over here...now that would be a blast!

Good luck to you CO boyz and have fun and be safe!

Just to give you guys an idea of what kind of conditions +7000 DA is. In order to break into the 11's (11.99) at sea level they would have to run a 13.2....damn, you guys have it tough .

yeah I ran my first viper GTS CLOSE to sea level in chicago with 433rwhp SAE (stock minus cats and on true street tires) it went 1.98 60' and 12.0@119 then at bandimere it went 12.99@111 with the same 60'.

Give or take a second and 10mph is the general correction but Im not a fan of correcting numbers to compare. I like your idea of us coming down there or others who think we are slow or they are faster, coming up here.

Its a whole new world up here, I came from Chicago and Im still not used to it. I love posting vids on youtube and the comments are just unreal from people who just dont know.

I haven't raced in DA as high as 7k but I've been close to 5k and it's nothing nice. I spent a lot of timing learning my car last year and how it reacts to different conditions. It actually really made me understand how tough some of you guys have it and I've come to appreciate my sea level track just a tad bit more.

If you guys ever want to come to Sac for the weekend let me know. There are a few die hards here in Norcal that would love to host a west coast meet. My recommendation would be in late fall and if enough people are interested we would get a private rental. Maybe the Utah, AZ, OR, and Washington boys could join us. Just say the word my friend and it's done.

I'm not a big fan of correction and claiming that as your time but I do believe in using the system to see how the car is performing. As you know track conditions vary immensely day to day and DA corrections is the only to way to accurately document your cars performance. Like I said, by no means would I be claiming that time but using it as more of a tool.

I look forward to your results and good luck. If the conditions are still in the 7000 those would be very stellar times.

If you don't mind me asking, do any of you guys use box tunes for your E's in that elevation. I would think that each tune would need to dialed in for your elevation???

I cant speak for everyone but if I were doing mods to an E55 up here, I would go have Cory at Kleeman do the tuning as they are just a few hrs south in Co Springs. I would also think if it was a box tune that the computer would compensate for the alt (a/f) change too right?

I'm very curious to see how quick and fast you guys run. IIRC, last year I ran 13.3@109 at Bandimere when my E55 was bone stock.

Bingo, ECU actually does a pretty good job up here of figuring it out. Cars run a tick on the rich side but I was surprised how well the Klee tune did at this eleva.

Jeremy tweaked mine a bit for this elevation and it's still a tick rich but he says I should be fine.

Not gonna break any records up here anyway, so better safe than sorry.

Jim, when do you plan on getting that custom tune?

By chance have you installed any type of logging system to track your AFR's? If you have something Jeremy could view you could definitely get your tune dialed in for optimum results. With his new tuning box you could easily store multiple tunes on your computer and transfer the to your tuning box which is easily uploaded to your car via OBD. I now own this box "EZ-Flash" and it's awesome. I'll start my own thread today explaining this unit.

With a 118 trap I would expect him to run 11.9-12.1 which will depend on his traction.

Any updated yet?
