supercharger chirp - when i let off?

From what i read, this is not a standard chirp when the blower engages. Its more so, when I get off the throttle - I hear a slight "whistle", or "chirp". Its definitely from the SC though. Again, this is only when WOT, or when Im feeling frisky. If I drive around town subdued, its not there.

Anyone else experienced this? Or should I just bring it to the dealer and have them inspect it?

Guidance is appreciated

since it only happens after fast driving -- it is probably the ECU downshifting because it thinks you want the best/fastest gear --- and since you are slowing down it makes perfect sense --- To avoid this -- after fast driving and you want the car to be less aggressive -- upshift repeatedly --- even if the car is already in 'D' --- -- upshifting will tell the ECU you no longer want to play and want a higher more relaxed gear.

the car is simple preparing for another boost of speed - thus downshifting and chirping

I appreciate the help, but I disagree with that hypothesis. Its only a new occurrence.

I shall get it on video soon and report back.

Its definitely belt related

my car has been doing the exact same thing recently, i'm 99% sure it's time for a new belt since it's slipping. I'll post an update once I change mine (very soon).

ive read a good amount about the chirp ...

mine chirps when i give it a good amount of throttle, and let off before i get to the goods ....

ive heard the only solution is to completely replace the supercharger, maybe the dealer will do it under warranty

It's the belt slipping when the load is suddenly removed from it. If you snap out of the throttle(especially when doing a burnout), the belt will go somewhat slack since the crank slows down and the blower internals are still spinning at high speed. The kinetic energy of the spinning blower will try to pull the belt from the tensioner side, which will cause a loss of tension and the chirp. My car has consistently done this since I got it, and I've had 3 different belts on the car(stock, replacement, and 180mm pulley belt).

It's not going to hurt the engine, but there is the possibility ot could snap the tensioner if it bottoms out with enough force. The S/C Mustang guys have big tensioner problems. I watched my buddy shear his tensioner in half at the track when he let off after the burnout. With our cars and the travel/robustness of the tensioner I wouldn't worry about it.
