03 Porsche 911 KILL [VIDEO]
Street Race!
whats up, I just got my 210 e55 and like I said I'm workin on gettin it into the 11's. So far I've got a 13.0 Bone stock plus:
K&N
FULL Custom Exhaust
285-35-19 S03's
weight:3760 plus me
The porsche is a bone stock 6-speed down to its p-zeros and stock air fliter.
I consistantly beat it by 2 cars.
For those of you who have seen my videos before , you know they are high quality and well edited!
http://161.58.248.45/images/video/e55v996.mpg
It's 8mb so it might take a while, you may right click and save as...
PS if you dont condone streetracing, DONT click it!

BoBcanada, the car is not a turbo Porsche, so it is not nearly as quick as the turbo model.
Autostream, can you post some time slips? What size is the custom exhaust? What 60 ft. times have you achieved with the S-03's?

...and then the road turned, and the Porsche left you in the dust.
Yes, we AMG guys like to think our cars are faster and less costly, but Porsche doesn't build cars for horsepower. I beat a 911 at the drag strip in my C32, but it doesn't really matter. He'll leave me behind at the track.
Same goes for the W210 E55 vs. 911, and the W211 E55 vs 911 Turbo.

Yes, I agree with Justin, Porsche is a track car not a drag car. the 6 speed manual 911 can do 5s for o-60mph on the hand of a professional driver. The E55 however, can easily get 5s for the 0-60mph

HEEELLLOOOO PEOPLE
the e55 isnt built for track OR drag. For a benz to beat a porsche in any performance category is impressive. It's a 4-door for christ, do you know how embarrassing that is for a porsche driver, lmao!
ps. Havent been to the track yet. but can tell you the s03's are better than pilots, p zeros and are cheaper. not as good as kd's though.
pss. my e55 is slightly modified for more hp than stock, but stock, I believe i would NOT have lost that race anyway.
BTW, I also own a porsche turbo (check my profile) so i am not biased at all.

Stock 911TT's turn in 0-60 times of 3.7-4.1 sec's.
Stock w211E55's have been reported at 4.3-5.0 sec's.
Why do you say that the E55 is faster?

its justr hp in that car. For the track, that would be the last car you would choose. The numbers are impressive, but all the testers agreed that this(211) is NO sports car.

the only reason the porscheTT sees those 0-60 numbers are because of the 4wd. After the launch, the porsche has to worry about it serious hp disadvantage
unless you are racing a professional driver, my money would be on the mercedes.

JEEEEZZZE, Guys I have to say that the E55 AMG W210/2111 are both VERY fast cars, obvisouly the Kompressor is faster, BUT for me, my dad owns a W210 normal car. We treat this car with so much respect and admiration, and I can only dream to think what It would be to sample this powerpack. It is truly amazing, plus for us guys over here in the Uk where petrol is 3/4 of a GBP per litre, and insurance, reasons, all of us drive diesels, and or 1-3 litre max cars.
If we see, an 5.0 or above car, its like seeing a Ferrari. And if its a Kompressor AMG, then we really do crap our pants in joy.
Another thing, guys have you seeeennn the tyre wideth on a porsch 911 turbo,???? jeeze, its like 6 foot wide!!!! If you give those tyres to a W210, I don't know what will happen. With these new engines and all their torque, it is near impossible to floor it and get good launch with ESP on, since power is reduced, and ESP off, you'll leave half your tyres at the traffic lights, and your tail will have slid to New mexico.
All in all, I am very proud of AMG cars, God willing we all get to try one one day, that will be THE day!!!

now it sounds like it should. Almost exaclty like a stock z06 vette. very quiet at idle (though louder than stock which was almost silent) and really loud on full throttle. louder than that porsche. I am very happy with the sound and its much more freerer flowing.
and yes i kept all 02 sensors and moved the 2nd set further down so it wont set a code (i hope, its been 5 days and no code yet!)

W211 E55AMG
Ive seen 0-125mph times something like 14.1-14.7 for E55AMG and 996 Turbo never under 15seconds. Couple magazines got 12.0-12.2 quarter-mile times for E55. that 11.9 was best ever(?) for 996 Turbo. GT2 is another piece...

I need to work on mine, but I don't want it loud for regular driving, I don't mind it loud at WOT.

But that's not the whole story. I owned a Porsche 996 Turbo RS-Tuning (543 HP) before I ordered the E 55 (family needs more space, we already own a ML 55 and a SLK 32) and I'm a real Porsche freak. Just in case somebody thinks I want to bash Porsche, this is not the case. Here's a little story:
we did a 996 Turbo vs. SL 55 AMG comparison a while ago and the 996 Turbo pulled off at all speed ranges. The SL 55 was limited to 250 kph.
Then, a different story with a different 996 Turbo (dealer car) and a E 55 AMG (dealer car too): we drove both cars at the same time to make a performance comparison. From standstill, the 996 Turbo pulled off slightly faster (about half a car length), probably because of the 4WD and the annoying ESP sensitivity on the E55.
Up to 125 mph, both cars were practically driving head to head, no performance difference at all. At speeds over 140 mph, things changed...the E 55 pulled off and left the 996 Turbo behind. We couldn't go at more than around 155 mph at that time but it was pretty clear: at speeds over 125 mph, the 996 Turbo lost ground.
Pretty impressive for such a heavy limousine.
Unfortunately most 996 Turbo out there are tuned, sometimes only ECU mods, sometimes big money mods. So if a 996 Turbo clearly outruns you in your E 55, it surely it wasn't stock.
