K-1 installation step 2
Today was step 2 of my K-1 journey. Step 1 was the delivery of the kit last week.
I dropped off the car for the installation of the pulley, K&N filters and to pull the ECU to send to Kleemann for remapping. Technician says he may have to update ECU first with latest Mercedes software before he can send to Kleemann. This is news to me so I call Cory at Kleemann and he says it is not necessary for his purposes, but that it may be a good idea for emissions or whatever Mercedes should have updated it for in the past. I said well then Mercedes should have already done update right. Cory says yes, so who knows.
I was told ECU was sent out this afternoon and they didn't mention update so maybe they decided it was not necessay. Before I left I asked technician to show me how to remove ECU in case I ever have to send it out to be reflashed again. There is a post on this subject but I need to see how it is done first hand. As it turns out the dealer who replaced the ECU 5 years ago after it was fried from an electrical failure did not have the ECU latched into position. Didn't seem to make a difference, but I'm still pissed that it wasn't done right.

Your gonna love it. Can't wait until you put on some headers Coal. Then she really gets up and jumps.
I went from stock to K2 and the smile on my face stayed on for days.
It's awesome.
You'll dig K1 though. It's a blast.
