Possible MAP sensor going bad?
Hey guys, I was driving my car yesterday and I noticed that my idle was rough at idle. I turned on my logger and found that my vacuum was low (10 in Hg) which I believe caused my AFR's to go lean. This same condition was still present while driving so I pulled over and cycled my key off and on, this fixed the problem and all was fine. It happened one more time last night while doing a little driving and the same procedure fixed the problem....weird. I'll be testing for a vacuum leak but it's hard for me to believe if this was the case a simple cycling of the key would temporarily fix the problem. I believe the MAP is the culprit even though with no CEL...thoughts?
As of now the car is running fine and any suggestions you guys might have would be appreciated. I'm not sure if this is cam related or not but I have close to 1000 miles on my cams and this is the first problem I have seen.
Edit: From what I've been told the leaner AFR's would cause the lower vacuum readings. I just spoke with my friend and he had the same issues and replacing the MAP fixed the problem....identical issues with the same cycling of the key to temporarily fix the problem.

Have You removed the supercharger recently.I had a similar problem that was caused by a leak and it threw a bar map pressure code and once I turned the car off and on it was fine.

How often did you have the issue? I just got done driving the car most of the day it drove like a champ..... Had a few WOT throttle runs up to 100 and it's pulling fricken harder than ever. The boost is right where it's supposed to be which if I was leaking I would think it would be down. At idle was great, low load drive-ability was perfect, and in neutral . There are no signs that are pointing anywhere, but after researching all the symptoms I'm having point to a failing MAP. I'm hoping I pull a CEL soon so I could better determine what to do. Either way MAP's are cheap enough that I will just purchase one.
Isn't modding fun....!!!!

Its these little things that make modding fun haha.On my car it ran fine also and we were puzzled, after my second time taking the supercharger off we used brand new gaskets and put on some slicone sealer everywhere. After bolting everything back up the code never came back.
I got it to do this 4 times and noticed it would do it more in the colder weather. Its been a few months now with no issues(knock on wood)and zero codes being thrown.
I say try a new map sensor and see where it goes.

Yeah, the part is cheap but I hear it sucks to get to...damn. Why does MB have to make it so difficult. Either way I'll either do it at my brothers shop or my tech will take care of it.
Does anyone have any recommendations on where to get it from? I have checked the typical stores I've seen here online but haven't had any luck. The part number I believe is 0051537228.

Yea it sounds like your car is just slow and you probably should sell it. I'll take it and part it off with what little remains on the vehicle that is in good condition. No worries, you can just get a nice black CLS55 instead.

White guy, black Chevelle, said he ran a silver E55 out here. He has 1000hp in it right now, he just finished building the engine. His brother had an SL or S65 so it was nice that he actually knew what the car was.

I'll keep a look out, but the only street race that I have had in my car was against that Z06. I know that there are bunch of wantabee's out here S430 AMG, S550 AMG, E350 AMG

I have seen a lot, the black E350 AMG works at the lab with me and there is a white CLS that is badged CLS63 in the rear and sides and it's just a regular CLS. The funny thing is he works at the Tracy Community Church. Do you think he tells God that he drives a lie everyday?

AJ is down in San Jo I know a lot recommend him and he's mobile, Sonic recommends him too. I got his card if you want. It's really not much I just don't want someone burning through the CC since it's harder on MB's. I don't want another retard coming out claiming he can fix it like last time just to waste the whole day.

Here's a link to a picture of the Y-pipe and where the MAP mounts.

I saw an S550 AMG on Friday. Didn't even have AMG wheels!!! I just broke out laughing as it drove by. I was in front of Duke University Hospital when he drove by. People were looking at me kind of funny
