Warranty issues - trends? What else?
Getting closer to purchasing the E63 I've been looking at. Been sitting awhile so dealer is getting hungrier....
Reviewed the NetStar dB. 30K miles, 2008 E 63
At CPO time - tires, break shoes, brake fluid flush - 35mm Front 28mm Rear so no new rotors, what's the min thickness specification? Are they typically replaced at every other break job?,
Intake Manifold Gaskets - How often do these tend to leak, others had to replace?
Voice Control Module - replace
AC - Dryer - O ring replace + recharge
during another test drive today - Sunroof wasn't working... pano shades worked but switch wouldn't move sunroof in tilt or slide open.
Beginning to see why all of you are recommending the warranty.... speaking of which-
$4400 two year, $3000 one year- 20% more if buy later- What have others paid for extended warranty through MBZ?
According to Net Star they took it back as a lease return for $47K, according to Net Star they are into it $54 and change w/ CPO reconditioning costs - I got to believe some of the difference is funny money - billed at full service rates and there is some room but they claim no...

If they say they got it for $47, then they're probably in it for no more than $49k, so you have definitely have some room to negotiate.
Warranty is very important for these cars and most of the time it ends up paying for itself many times over. If you can, get the Mercedes warranty as it offers the least hassles.

I am a pre owned manager at a MB store. Brake pads as well as tires need to be at 7/32 to pass CPO. It usually costs about $3500 to CPO an AMG car plus the $1395 base CPO warranty. Good luck with your purchase.

If rotors are below spec, they must replace, correct. I'm concerned about just putting on pads and getting by vs. replacing rotors.
In regards to the Search comment, already did - nothing on intake gasket replacement.
