My dyno session

Ok, so today I finally got some free time and get my car dyno. The wether was 97+ degree F and humidity was about 40%, far from ideal weather. Please keep in mine that my baseline dyno run was made from this same dyno last Fall when weather was about 75 degree F.

A little bit about my car. My car was baseline as stock with just RennTech 172mm pulley and tune. It made 460whp on the baseline run.

First dyno pull was RennTech tune, 172mm pulley, PTE 160 degree thermostat, Brian GT PRO prototype headers, and 3" mid pipes (with built in H-pipe) with Magnaflow hi-flow cats and stock resonators and exhuast.

Second dyno pull was with everything in the first pull plus the 82mm TB and custom intake.

I am elated!! I can not believe the gain. I definitely need to get my car custom tune now as up to the AFR was about 11.8 (a little lean for my taste).

11.8 is a good AFR. I wouldnt call that lean at all. Need links other than your mailbox lol

11.8 lean? Not at all. That is fine. Also can not see the graphs.

Yes, what not to like. I gained 18% whp over my baseline run. I bet if the weather was 75 degree yesterday the gain would be close to 20%. I need to upgrade the pulley and get a custom tune.

I would not touch the tune at this point. You are not lean as others pointed out. Some may actually like it a bit leaner if anything, but at 11.8 you are quite safe.

very nice gains and love the intakes. so you basically gained 42rwhp from going to the 82mm and your intake setup, did you have the t/b ported?

My baseline was 460. The headers and exhaust works worth 47whp, the 82mm tb and intake worth another 37whp (the SC inlet was portmatch to the TB and adapter plate).

As for the intake set-up, I'll ask my fabricator to see if he interest in making any more (he has a real job, just doing this on the side).

^^^^^I had a chance to talk to the fabricator of my intake. He said he'll do it if there is enough interest.

Just curious if you have logged your iats with that intake. It obviously made nice power on the dyno. How is it day to day? It is a sweet looking set-up for sure, and I might be interested.

I was thinking the same thing. On a dyno, an intake like that will make good power. However, it would seem the power would be greatly diminished with the hood closed and sucking in 200 degree air from the engine bay. At the very least, you should see your IAT's spiking quickly without supplimenting your intercooling system.

I really don't have any thing to log AIT with. But no, I really don't feel any different in drivability the last couple days (it's been in the mid 90s degree here). May be next time i have a chance I'll throw it on the dyno and dyno with the hood close and see what happen.
