trying out DI-NOC under the hood

Still some air bubbles in the wrap but trying it out for now; the air box has stood up to my recent trip to the track . . .

1) pm Shardul
2) hair dryer
3) patience
4) you tube
5) It's a PITA with the engine cover because has so many different changes on the surface.
6) remembering that you can pull it off and start all over again

no problem what so ever - I'll take more detailed pics and send them to you tomorrow - I'll also call because the air boxes are straight forward but the engine cover is a BIATCH!!!!!!!

Did you use anything extra for adhesive like a glue gun or silicone?

Nope - just the adhesive that comes with the wrap - you don't have to be afraid - once you take off the protective backing and the adhesive is exposed - it doesn't matter - you can literally ball it up and put a hair dryer on it and it will go back to it's original form

Thanks - I took off both the air box and the engine cover (extremely easy to do). I first painted both black because I was wasn't sure which I'd like better. I applied the wrap over the paint (actually the sides are still black and the wrap is just on top as I had a lot of problems wrapping the engine cover). Here's a pic in which you can see the black on the side (I'm still debating on whether to re-wrap or leave it as is). This was an experiment just to see

It looks good! Nice to see it will stand up to the heat. I was thinking of the same but never had time. IMO you should wrap the whole box

Sorry to bump an old thread, but I'd love to know how many square feet I'm going to need to do this the right way.

Fantastic.

I started a thread about doing the side markers last week and posted results in that thread. Really simple, cheaper than clear sides or euro bumper strips, and you can just zip tie the bulb inside the bumper so it doesn't shine through.

Really subtle mod that only people looking for it will notice, and gets rid of the ugly amber.

Have you done the DIY? If so, have any idea how much square footage I'll need to pick up and if so, what size sheets? [12x48, 24x48, etc]

I think Shardul mentioned it being cheapest locally, but I made my prior purchase from metrorestyling on ebay. I think I've got enough left to do my intake tubes, but will need to re-buy for engine cover.

This stuff works great and will definitely stand up to heat.

First off, looks great.

I did mine almost 9 months ago now and it is still perfect in 100 degree florida heat.

MY ADVICE, PRIMER PRIMER PRIMER, I DID 3 SEPARATE COATS OF PRIMER 94.

I have 3 brand new bottles of this stuff, as I had to buy a case to get a good deal.

Once it is on with the Primer, consider it permanent.

Didn't have a good pic at work..... I mean on my computer...at work.

I haven had thought the bottom edges would of started peeling or curling by now, but it is perfect.

Are you saying primer it before sticking it on, or put it over the vinyl once its on???
