dont forget these cars adapt to driving habits and if the car was driven like a old lady hence it will feel that way . A ecu and tcu reset and some solid runs WOT will get the car back to normal . A m3 cannot shine a 55's shoes . Oh and niether a 63's lol .

Agreed. Lots of nice e55s for sale now. Great time to be buying. A well running stock e55 will also feel a lot different then your M3. You will definitely notice a difference.

i'm surprised this car is not running well, I'm in Toronto also, but that shop is well known as a top notch shop, renntech dealer etc etc
if its just the pump i'd think they'd replace it, did you drive the car this week, its been 45C with the humidity...

I didnt get over 60mph but it should still push me back in the seat. I mean I pushed it to the floor and it felt like the tranny was in 4th gear and slowly accelerating. And In no way am I saying my M3 is faster than an E55 Im not a fool Im saying for my first test drive It didnt feel as fast or quick acceleration for the HP so im thinking the cooling has failed.
When the S/C doesn't engage the car will literally feel like it has 100 hp, it's a complete dog. If you punch it from a 30 mph roll the car will downshift to 2nd gear. However, this requires you to smash the accelerator past the kickdown button. If you rolled into it and then stopped pressing when you felt resistance, the car would have been in 3rd gear and felt like a dog. It takes a firm and deliberate push or stomp to actuate the kickdown button. It is VERY easy for a first-timer to not realize that there is a button under the pedal. Since 3rd gear is good to about 120 mph, it will feel like the car is just lugging along, which it basically is.

No... question if you are not taken aback by the instant thrust the car is faulty....No matter what car you have driven / been driving.

There was definitely something wrong with the E55 you drove. I have an M6 and my E55 would smoke it to 80. The E55 would also smoke my GT3 and my Stage 3 Dinan M Coupe (S54) which are all considerably faster than your E46 M3.

In fact, I can't think of many cars outside of an SL65 that can out pull an E55!!!

My cars first gear is a joke when its under 80 out!!!

Do I need to go make a video to show what a healthy e55 pulls like in first lol.

Topgun you need to do the tranny reset, the car always adapts to make it more civil.

Just to give you an example. With a few K in mods, you can have a car that actually causes you neck pain from 0-60.

My kids love 0-60 and command I do it. Yesterday we hammered it to 60 and when we let off, my neck actually hurt from holding it up with that much brutal acceleration.

My 10 year old said she felt like she was gonna pass out. They always wanna go faster and booooo ole dad when he lets off at 60.

Then they get all happy again when I remind them that was about the same 0-60 as a Ferrari Enzo. (well maybe a tick slower )

Its def a bad pump.

mine was dead when I bought my 05 with 37k miles on it.I knew more about the car than the tech did.

He was like Ill plug it in to see if theres any codes, nothing showed up and said the car was fine.I plugged in my obd2 scan tool and showed him 197d air intake temps and he looked at me like he had no idea what I was showing him.

Good luck on buying a beast bro and hopfully the one you looked at is clean and only has a dead pump.

Im off to the drags with my beast

Man I waiting for you to chime in with "55's are slow compared to M3's.... only when you keep the M3 and HPF it"
