trouble with mp3 cds

I have an 08 E63. Does anyone else have trouble with the cd changer reading folders from mp3 cds? I find the one slot cd player reads the folders better, but seems finicky and ejects the cd if it has trouble reading the folder with mp3s. I use my ipod adaptor, but find it is easier to switch with the cds. Any tips from long time owners??

E55 then E63, now back to an E55
Record the CD at a lower rate (i.e. 24x instead of 48x)

Certainly only use the single slot, the changer will not work well with MP3s

That's funny that you ask that question, as I have on 07 E63. And sometimes my COMAND has issues with reading my MP3 CD, and says ERROR. It is pretty good all the other times, but every once and awhile, it acts up. I would try burning your CDs using different software, I found that using microsoft media-player works best, then using ROXIO, or something different. Maybe that will help.

thx guys. Will try burning at slower rate. I was paranoid it might have been my folder layout but was careful to put all the songs in one folder for each artist, and not a folder within a folder before burning.

Make sure you are using Verbatim CD's or DVD's.

I've had issues with Memorex and Sony brands, sometimes the work, sometimes they don't - and there doesn't seem to be any pattern to it. This would also applies to the NAV DVD in the trunk if you have made a backup.

As for burning, using the built in program in Windows 7 or Vista works just fine, no need to use an external program.

ok guys so just to be clear are you able to navigate through folders on your 6-disc changer or does it just give you a long list (as if your songs are all in one root folder) because I am able to navigate folders on the single slot on the COMAND but not while playing from the changer

I know in the 6-CD changer folders show up as a LONG list - folder names seems to be discarded, never tried the single slot - will confirm soon when I hop in the car.

* confirmed - folders only work on the single slot and not the changer.

The changer also only displays the file name while the single slot shows the ID3 tag.

cool I'm not alone. I guess I could live with it or title my tracks with the album name first.

I never have any issue with MP3 playback with my comand system... I load MP3 discs in both teh 6cd changer and the single in dash slot... The in dash slot has a better navigation structure... The CDC doesn't show you folders, it'll just organize and play all the tracks and folders in an alphabetical format... Not too considering I can load hours worth of music into the CDC and not have to worry about it for a while...
