The pre model updated 211 E-classes came with separate bumper strips. Which made it a lot easier to get parktronic retrofitted. The model updated 211s and the 212s come with bumpers that are one piece. No separate strips anymore. Meaning that you would either have to drill holes in your current bumpers so you can place the PTS sensors (risking to get them damaged so you have to repaint them), or that you have to purchase new front and rear bumpers that have the holes pre-drilled.
Is it possible to install parktronics in a 2010 E63 after purchase?
Don't try it. I would rather not have the option that comes with an annoying noise that blasts every time you pull in the garage or a person walks by your car. I turn mine off and love the peace and quiet. Finally, the bumps and holes all over your bumpers are gone without Parktronics. It is the easiest way to save a few bucks on a car if you can find one without the option.
BTW the headliner and other interior mods to the 2010 are not very nice. However, there are some killer deals starting to show up on left over 2010s.
