Couple of issues with the new ride

Ever since I picked it up last weekend, I've occasionally gotten these messages via the cluster:

ESP malfunction
Active Headlights Inop.
Cruise Control Inop.

The previous owner had to replace the main battery about a week before I bought the car and these warnings popped up afterwards. He claims that the MB dealer said it was just a product of the battery running low. They cleared the codes and all was believed to be ok. Apparently that was not the case. Simply turning the car off and then back on will 9 times out of 10 clear those warnings and everything will function fine. What would cause these systems to throw warnings? I assume something between the 3 is related. I will most likely make this my first warranty trip to the dealer, but if it's really something as simple as a short circuit in a fuse, I'd rather not waste the time.

steering angle sensor would be my guess. the dealer should be able to get you sorted out.

Did you check the secondary battery?

reset steering angle sensor. turn the steering wheel a couple of times to full lock position on either side a couple of times. doing this may get rid of the manfunction.

Unfortunately, reseting the steering angle sensor didn't work. Looks like this will be the first dealer trip.

One question, though...when an ESP malfunction is displayed, does the car go into any sort of nanny or limp mode? Sometimes it seems like the car is pulling power and other times, like this morning when I traveled ~100 feet down Clay Rd with the tail hanging out, it feels just fine. Maybe I'm getting confused with heatsoak since I'm relatively new to the ride, but I just thought I'd ask.

Its still something power-related. ESP has a malfunction every time the battery gets disconnected. Do the power windows work properly?

I just took my car into the dealer for the ESP malfunction code. They diagnosed it as faulty supercharger and throttle body actuators. I had total loss of acceleration (nothing like heatsoak--which is essentially just the supercharger shutting off so you still have the power of the v-8 engine--basically you're rolling an E500).

a Rivera...via a Custom 24, Strat and Les Paul
May sound simple but it could be that the battery cables are loose on the main battery. My battery had to be charged after a dyno tune and I was throwing "convenience functions not available" all the time - went into the trunk, loosened and then tightened the cable - haven't had a code since - maybe disconnect the battery again - make sure the cables are tight - do the steering wheel reset again? It's amazing how big problems can be caused by little things with this car.

Power windows work fine. The only things affected are the 3 issues mentioned in the original post.
