Mobridge installed..
This thing is awesome! I love the fact that I can stream Pandora from my iphone to my car over bluetooth.. the controls are a bit weird for the ipod, but overall what a great option for the guys without a factory phone connection.
I also had a friend install a pocket where the CD changer went so I can hide my ipod while its connected to the car.. I already have a proclips cradle/dock on the way so i can just slide it in and be done with it..
Sorry for the crappy pics.. just took them with my iphone..

Found it for $650 on eBay.. Everywhere else I could find it was $800+. The guy I bought it from listed another one for $640.
I'll snap one later.. But it's the stock grille on the 05+..

Correct. The mobridge unit replaces the cd changer on the MOST network. You still retain the single CD slot above the comand however, so if you don't maintain all your CD's on your iPod, you can still use that slot.

where did you get that pocket to replace the CD changer? is it an MB part or aftermarket? did your mobridge come with the new mic? can you reuse the factory mic?

As a product tester and distributor for mObridge, I can answer your mObridge questions for you. You COULD use the factory mic, but the sound quality is really bad. However, you can install the mObridge mic in the factory location if you want. Mic installation is quite easy.
We have plenty of mObridge in stock -

What is the part number on the back of the mObridge (they are not all the same)
You should not need to code for phone, as all North American cars are already coded on- unless a dealer has turned it off.
You would need to activate it in the MOST ring and in the Cluster - should you need to
Factory mic is in the mirror. However, we do not recommend that location. We recommend at the joint between headliner and front windshield in the painted back area of the windshield. That will give you the best sound performance.
Also, it should be noted for other readers, that the amount paid was for either a used unit or an unauthorized seller and comes without warranty. One should not expect to pay this price, as there is a minimum required price by the manufacturer to qualify for warranty and service.

That is correct for your car if you have COMAND. Give it a go, it is not too hard.
BTW, to clarify on the ebay purchase of a mObridge. - mObridge expressly forbids new units being sold on eBay. If a dealer is found selling them there, they get one warning, then are terminated. If a serial number comes from that dealer, there is no warranty at all. Of course used units can be sold on eBay at will.

well the unit came from a distributor with a price showing $530. So i'm guessing thats what you guys get it for? and the warranty would go back through the distributor so it wont be an issue

No, that is WAY below cost.
Don't know what that number is. However, not you, but other readers beware... They are carefully tracked by mObridge, and if a dealer is canceled, the serial numbers are logged. Distributors don't handle warranty at all. We just don't want people calling us and hassling our dealers ( we are both distributor and dealer) for prices that don't exist. You got a lucky deal, and future readers just need to know that.
In fact I got an email from mObridge corporate about this thread, and they are monitoring it. They are very serious about people dumping new units at a loss to get quick cash or new old stock.

Did it not come with the instruction manuals? It is all detailed there, and I think you can download them from mObridge too. We have produced our own, so do not use the ones included.
The bypass loop goes on the changer....sometimes. It depends on the feature set you want and in an W211, how you choose (and where) you install it. If you are using iPod functions AND extend the factory harness with one that came with the mObridge, then the loopback would go on the CD Changer plug. However, if you don't use iPod, then you don't need it at all.
Will the people you bought it from give you tech support? We usually walk people through it on the phone (many times a day) - it is a lot easier that way (and what we are known for). See if they will help you that way- they should.
