Recent E63 Software update?

Dropped my 63 off last Friday for a CEL. Also asked them to do a tranny flush. SA called back pretty quickly after drop off and let me know there was a software update pushed down by MBZ and they would do it for free.

Called me back Friday afternoon, car was not ready, needed to be test driven again since they weren't getting the "results" they wanted after the update. Unfortunately that meant I spent the weekend in a loaner c300.

Monday comes around and again...test driving...not getting the results they want.

Called this morning and pushed my SA a little, he responds with the same comment...test driving...not satisfied with the results...tweaking per MBZ instructions. He tells me AMG's can be finicky sometimes.

He also told me there is another E63 in the shop having the same issues with the new software.

So my question is - Anyone else do a recent software update and have the same problem? For those in the know, has there even been a recent update pushed down (last few weeks/months?)I feel like I'm getting jerked around a bit and want to get some feedback before I rip into my SA, he's usually a great guy to work with.

I had a software update on my 07 E63 a few months back, only setback SA said was that the download, apparently from Germany, did not go right and had to do it again took an extra day. On the bright side you get an extra day to toss the C300 around =)

I haven't had an update in a while and my car has been in recently, so I'm guessing it's the same one I got. Didn't have any problems with that. The rear window shade took about 5 days to fix though At least I had a GLK 350

Going on day 4 now...

I'm pretty sure they wrecked my car on a test drive and are now feverishly repairing things.

That's actually a valid possibility. You should go and check on your car to make sure things are in order.

I'd do a hand brake power slide with the c300 thru the service area while popping off a 9mm thru the sun roof demanding answers. Something is not adding up for a code update.

RE: MB Flash

+1. I had mine at the dealer last month for some a/c work, and no mention of any flash updates, which is o.k. as I don't want any. They elected to do their full blown "complementary" 30 some point inspection too, and found my car to be 100%.

My dealer did perform a a flash update on mine last year, July 09, when I first got it, with the at the time latest "M1" flash. Maybe it's a southern thing, but they have since consistently said that there are no new software updates.

Would love to hear more about this. Nonsense at the dealership never surprises me.

Got the car back this morning...running like a champ. Saw the "other" E63 my SA referred to still sitting in the garage when I grabbed mine. SA told me they downloaded the update from Germany and had to go back and forth to them with results a few times before they were satisfied that the update was performing correctly. Took longer than I'd expected, but all's well that ends well...right?

Update feels great. Throttle is very responsive, shifts are quick and smooth.

The update added the lap timer and battery volt meter, which make me think it was an older update that I had missed since I've seen other posts about those features.
