The AMG that started it all was quite a few years (20+ years) before the "Hammer".
BTW it was supercharged too.

Yacht - M100 engine was not supercharged..it had high compression and custom cams and beautiful exhaust. I do agree this was the AMG that started the legacy.

I would love to have an original, real, AMG Hammer. Those cars are amazing historical pieces, and really are on of the first 'super sedans' that I remember. If anyone knows of one for sale, I have been trying to track one down for years, even if it needs restored.

When you put it all into context, it really sinks in. Although Vettes are to be feared now, the late 80s TPIs were pumping out the flamethrowin 240hp or so.
That flippin Hammer ran 13s in the 1/4.
