Taking The Beast Into the Shop Again - Question for you all

Peeps,

I just had the Powersteering pump/motor replaced under warranty a few weeks back but now it's going out again so I have to take it back. Is this a common known issue withe the E55?

Also my car continues to leak a good amount of oil overnight. They've checked both drain plugs multiple times (even replacing both), but when I pull out of the garage in the morning and go look at the drip pan it has quite a bit of oil on it. Does the E55 have a known issue with dry/wet sump (not sure which one we have) oil leaking or something?

Appreciate any advice here as it's getting a bit annoying having to bring it in to the dealer once a month, even if it's all under warranty.

Thanks.

Alex

def not normal! I havent had my PSP fail, nor have i been leaking oil. I had a problem with tranny fluid but that was a recall due to a defective clamp or something way back in the day. Id ask them to do a full look over.

Any leak, oil, coolant, ATF, PSF, Diff lube, should not be tolerated.
Sounds to me like your dealer that replaced your PS pump, screwed up.
Not hard to believe they cant find a leak either.
Time to find a better (competent) dealer if there is such a thing.

Gotcha, thanks guys! I heard E55's are known to have a dry sump leak hence me asking.

I want to get this fixed so I can put on the 180mm pulley and H/E. Both are on my desk now!

I would maybe check you valve cover gaskets , they have been known to leak on are engines.
