Dip Stick
I guess the previous owner did not know how to remove a an oil dipstick? The dip sitck was all twisted up.
- Will this cause any damage?
- How much is a replacement dip stick?
- How inaccurate will this be?

It is support to be like that..I bought a new one from the dealer while back and that how it look like but the bottom end is different than in the picture. The part guy told me this was the latest version of the dipstick. It about an inch longer than the stright one that came with the car.

RE: E63 Dipstick
I had the same issue when I bought mine last year although yours in the pic looks different than the one mine came with. Mercedes released a revised dipstick for the 07 cars, the early ones were apparently prone to coming loose and causing idle issues. It costs like $30, although there may be a TSB where they replace it free of charge. My independant specialist got me one, replaced the original, the new design reads perfectly and stays put.
Ask you dealer to verify that you have the latest dipstick.
