Lessons learned from getting a flat
Got a flat over the weekend and learned a couple of things:
1) you can travel at 75mph for about a minute swearing that "these roads SUCK" before you start to smell rubber and you think "maybe these roads don't suck"
2) Aftermarket Jack + Torque wrench = pretending you're in a pit crew and the tire gets changed QUICKLY!
3) a tire that has very little damage on the outside can look like this on the inside:

4) Rubber ***** are not only created at the track

5) If you have Contis - they have a warranty for any road hazzard that shreds a tire and this pic = FREE REPLACEMENT (had 7000 miles on it)

6)Driving a modded 100K car with personalized plates and 3 19' in wheels with an 18 inch OEM AMG rim as the fourth is somehow painfully embarassing. . .

I was, however, amazed that I passed the "tread requirement" for the warranty. I'm not going to lie, the words "f'ing Clayton with his burnout is going to jack me on the tread depth" may have went through my head
; I swore that last burnout you did took a couple of tenths off

With a .4 - .5 seconds shaved off my ET every time you touch it, yeah - that rule never crossed my mind.

LOL...
I would've kept trying, and probably got it after a few launches. But that wheel hop I got out of hole, from the LSD I'm assuming, scared me. Last thing I want to do is break somebody's car. Your car launches different than any 55K I've ever launched. I would've eventually got it dialed in, I have no doubt.
Your car had the exact same MPH as BTs, so I know your car has it in it. Plus, you were so damn close getting it there yourself. What, 12.0x right? Just need a 1.8x 60' and you're there. Or, even if you can just duplicate your same 60' at our next rental, you'll be in the 11s. The next rental should have much better D/A, so you'd be able to throw MPH at it.

What the hell is up with that anyways? Anyone?
