Stock TB grid
So i decided to try out the stock TB grind and as always i have to do everything twice on this car. Took it off and at 82k my gasket was in perfect shape. Started to grind it like guysandiego put the throttle body back on fired it up and car seemed normal. drove it 30miles back home let it idle for a second while checking air pressure and it all starts. ESP malfunction CEL light and high idle. it was kinda acting like it had a intake leak somewhere. took it to advance auto part and said something about the throttle body (shocker) and something about engine speed and idle sensor. SOOOO does anyone got a stock TB laying around im in Orlando.
Thanks in advance.
you can deff notice a diff.

Check all your hoses, make sure you plug the hose on the bottom of the tb. Play with the TPS plug, those wires are very finicky. The same thing happened on my car when I swapped the tb, played with the TPS solved my problem. Hope this help and good luck. I do have a stock tb if you need, but it have no electronic stuff.

+1 on hoses. Worth getting the hand dirty again to tug on each one. There is a hose just off the side of the TB mouth that sometimes looks connected but is loose.

for some reason you mentioned your tb gasket was in perfect shape...does this mean you reused it? if so, that would be guess as to your possible vacuum problem.

They are metal based gaskets. a simple clean and scuff with a 3m pad should do. Check every hose and be sure the TB is bolted down snugly. Symptoms sound like a vacuum leak.

ive checked eveywhere, if your staring at the throttle body from the front of hte car off to the right there is a little black thing that is circle that looks like suttin might go in there but there is nothing around and or dangling around.

Get a can of carb cleaner. Spray some carb cleaner at the hoses and throttle body. Do this with the car idling. If the car stutters and wants to die. That's where your leak is.

yes, if you removed the throttle blade -- it may not be reinstalled perfectly --
Also, there is a metal bracket that holds the breather hose into the bottom of the TB --it has 3 legs -- 2 legs have holes and one is bent---
this does not sandwich between the TB and supercharger -- this bracket is bolted down do the TB and only touches the head of the star screw head and the TB
So, the 2 bottom bolts "closest to the ground" that go into the TB -- should go in this order ===
bolt--> metal bracket ---> TB ---> gasket ---> supercharger
And make sure that T-hose "breather" is plugged into the TB hole at the bottom -facing the ground.

i on accident removed the throttle blade... i took everything back apart and put it all back together (besides the throttle blade) and the car ran great for a 100 miles, once i let it idle for more than 5 min CEL back on and car wigging out.

Davenport -1
Tampa +1
I have a house in Tampa, Orlando and Haines City which is basically S.Davenport at I-4 and lived in all areas for years.
Tampa is great, anything and everything is there
Davenport, rural, out of way, best thing there is Disney
Orlando, touristy like hell, but better than Davenport or similar areas..not better than Tampa overall
just my 2 cents, thought I would chime in since moving is a huge decision

with a bunch of help from shardul and others i finally got this accomplished. i took off the tb many of times (on one of them i lost a bolt) and cleaned it and i reset the TB and no cigar. So finally yesterday i took it all apart and took off the blade and used 1000 grit sandpaper on the blade shaft and the mouth of the throttle body. i didnt go to 2000 or anything like that. I spent a good amount of time placing the throttle blade in what i thought was the best position drenched it in throttle body cleaner, and then electronic parts cleaner. the car now drives like a 62s and pulls like a ****
Thanks all
Thanks all
