2. 193 MPH = Porsche 911 Turbo (Modified) *
3. 183 MPH = BMW 850Ci (Modified)
4. 180 MPH = Toyota Supra Turbo (Modified) *
5. 171 MPH = Mercedes CL60 (Modified) *
6. 170 MPH = Dodge Viper (Modified) *
7. 166 MPH = BMW 740iL (Modified)
8. 162 MPH = Saab 93 Turbo (Stock)
9. 160 MPH = Chevrolet Corvette (Modified) *
10. 150 MPH = Toyota MR2 Turbo (Stock)

* These Cars Did Not Hit Their Maximum Potential

I Voted 170 MPH for the poll for relevant results, although it's not a AMG. :P

Just under 100 in the Sl, 185 in the Porsche, it was pretty scary. I kept thinking of all the things that could go wrong.

Really? I did 180 mph in our Carrera 4 Cabriolet and it felt rock solid.

In a rag top? That must've took a while given the extra weight and drag...the guy you were answering likely meant fear of a blowout, though the light front end of a 911 is not ideal for max speed runs but still better than a Tercel at 90 ...

Oh, that makes sense about the blowout possibility.

As far as the 911, yep, it was convertible with a 6-speed manual transmission. It actually got there rather quickly, and was VERY stable. To this day it is one of the most stable cars I have ever driven at that speed.

What's the standing mile time on a stock e55?

I was hoping to run the Texas Mile but would prefer to hit the 170mph threshold, and if that's going to take modification, I'll just forgo the stock run.

1 mile standing vmax is in 170-181 range , 181 is PLopes car.. Kleemann stage 2/3 I think. His car is very well dialed in ....

I think 185 is doable with some more mods...

Think if u break 170 in stock form you are doing well.
