Cough....dodger...cough.
Seriously.....who runs out of gas going down the track. ![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Track is not in great shape. Guys are having problems with traction.
Still a beautiful day, good people and some sweet rides.
Managed a PB 11.81@118.7.
Bt's car was faster on a stock pulley...*****

Yep - ran my PB on the first run and had traction issues for every run after that. . .to add insult to injury - my slip wasn't waiting for me so I had to go to the tower to get the print out:
11.743 @ 119.01 with a 1.772 60'
street tires on 19's
Kleeman headers with X pipe
box OE tune
Everything else is stock.
(had a custom tune without the headers but Jeremy flashed me at the last track day - can't wait for him to get back into town so I can get it dyno-tuned with the headers
![devil](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/devil.gif)
I had back to back runs trapping 120.xx but my 60's SUCKED so I was in the low 12's with those. . .

Clayton = Fail.
Street tire lane sucked today. With my new TCU tune, I spun in first, on boost in second, and even spun on boost in 3rd once! Track couldn't hold my car today and I left disappointed.
Future = Drag radials.

Holy cow!!!! Did you have street tires on that stock beast? If you did your car isn't that far off the all time record for a stock motor on street tries. Your ET's and traps are very very good, nice job!!!

BT Great run bro,not sure what your 60's were but for sure you had a good 11.5 today with those traps

As far as the modding, I'm still maintaining a strict "NO bigger pulley rule"
![Big Grin](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
I'm not going to lie - the ONLY time I reconsider this is when I'm "playing" above 60 mph - then I WANT the bigger pulley because I want to feel the neck snap when I get on it (I actually was thinking that the beast was slow coming into today - line up for my first run - nail it - head flies back and hits the head rest
![rolf](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/rofl.gif)
![devil](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/devil.gif)
The only thing I'm really considering is DR's because I know those would probably get me to 11.5's (which is my goal - I have no need to go lower - that's what my bikes are for
![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Nice run, did you ever run it before the headers and tune?
Ran it with just the OE custom dyno tune (stock headers, pulley etc) - my best time was a 12.6X at 114 (caveat - it was 90 degrees out, my first time at the track and it was a different track - Clayton ran a 12.2 at 113 on the same track on the same day with my car - his 60 was 1.7X, mine was 2.X).
put the headers and X pipe on (THANKS CHARLIE
![Big Grin](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
I'm still learning about DA's (I know lower is better
![Stick Out Tongue](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/tongue.gif)
![EEK!](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/eek.gif)
The headers really OPEN THINGS UP up top. One doesn't really realize how much until they're on and the car just continues to PULL where as with the stock headers - it feels almost like a "soft rev limiter" is hit. I like them because I'm not playing with boost, just opening things up (personal opinion). Even though different days, different tracks - different temps - I think it's fairly safe to say that the headers alone gained 4 mph and .4 seconds (on my car... )
(all runs were done on 19' Conti extreme contact DW's)

cornfed gtr and m3
Took the M3 today, and had horrible traction issues, literally couldn't hook until 4th on my lowest whp setting. The street tire lane was a tad greasy.

Thanks L.!!!!! my 60's on the 120.xx's run where all over 2.1 so if I was able to throw my 1.77 on who knows?!?!?! (but honestly - that 1.7 was PURE LUCK
). Clayton can rip them all day long on street tires and that is only the second time I've been below 2.0.
As far as the modding, I'm still maintaining a strict "NO bigger pulley rule"
. I'm actually done with engine mods - the headers just made sense to me - I viewed it as making the engine more efficient by letting it breath better (and boy does it now) and I figured that not only do you get more power but you minimize the "disaster" component to it.
- I WANT THAT AT 60mph
)
The only thing I'm really considering is DR's because I know those would probably get me to 11.5's (which is my goal - I have no need to go lower - that's what my bikes are for
Thanks!!!!!!

) Jeremy Flashed on a new tune at the track before my first run... I ran a 12.2 at 118 with 2.X 60's; Clayton ran a 11.8X at 118 with a 1.7 60's on the same day with my car - temps were in the 80's).
I'm still learning about DA's (I know lower is better
) but just the temp change netted me 2 mph today
The headers really OPEN THINGS UP up top. One doesn't really realize how much until they're on and the car just continues to PULL where as with the stock headers - it feels almost like a "soft rev limiter" is hit. Hammer, it looks like you have some serious competition on the east coast. If he happens to cut a low 1.7 on street tires your record might be in jeopardy. You better get back to track and raise that bar a tad higher. All these cars are running so fast these days it's amazing!!!!

Wow! I think you took down hammers down best ET with street tires. That is quite the accomplishment

Great run Motorkas, your car is a fricken animal. I'm glad to see you guys enjoying the track events with quicker and faster runs each time. Setting PB's is always fun and rewarding.
Once again nice job guys and very well done!

Not to take anything away from E55 rocket.....that guy can drive!
His 60's are always good, must have been something watching him run in his Cobra.
However his car is flashed with Jeremy magic, but it does have a cracked exhaust manifold....lol.
Great time today guys, glad to see everyone again and meet some new members v

Thanks Alan!!!!!!!
I couldn't agree more about the 60's (I remember the formulas being thrown out to show how they correlate to lower ET's) but I really think the headers (and new tune to take advantage of them) were really good for those numbers (at least on my car). I really am curious as to your opinion (on racing, you've obviously walked it and anybody foolish enough to doubt your knowledge on the subject is. . .well. . . foolish) but when I look at the numbers with the same car with two sets of drivers on the same day, same track and COMPLETELY different skill levels
it really does lead me to that conclusion...
ME:
Just an OE tune: 12.6 at 114; 2.0 60'
OE box tune and headers 12.2 at 118; 2.0 60'
OE box tune and headers today: 11.74 at 119 1.7 60'
Clayton on the same track, same day(s) with my car:
OE tune: 12.2 at 113 1.7 60'
OE box tune and headers 11.8 at 118 1.7 60'
I understand that the 60's have a huge effect on ET's (as shown by Clayton continually SPANKING me with my own car and adding up to .4 secs) but on my car at least it really does look like the headers were responsible for .4 sec and 4 mph (with all the necessary disclaimers assumed).
The reason that I ask is because right now I'm a BIG advocate of headers for legitimate performances gains - if I'm wrong I want to know so I don't don't give others bad advice (especially since after install this is not an inexpensive mod).
Thanks again for the well wishes and congrads - it really is a blast - I only wish it was easier to get us all on the same coast for a proper AMG blowout!!!!!

I think most his gains in ET's were 60' related. Going from 2.xx something 60' times to 1.7-1.8's will have a huge impact on ET's...huge!!!!
