Sometimes, my Keyless Go will stop the ignition with a push of a button on the shifter, and sometimes it won't and its embarrasing to have to get the key out and put it in the ignition to stop the motor when you have Keyless Go!!! I try to move the shifter in and out of gear to see if that makes a difference to stop with keyless go. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesnt. Sometimes it takes two times pushing the button on the shifter to stop the car, then it restarts, then I have to stop it again... Any tips on fixing this problem?? I did a search on the site and there are a few recommendations like battery replacement in key, and replacing keyless go switch. Please advise on your experiences in advance before I do either of these fixes..Thanks for any help.

Your driver door handle may need to be changed, if im not mistaken its linked to the keyless go. When that goes bad so does the keyless.

I've had the Keyless go switch stop working on the shifter. I could actually rotate the shifter knob and get it to function intermittently only to find out the wiring to the switch was loose with one of the connectors about to break off. I would suggest replacing the switch or at least checking to see if the connection may have came loose. Hope that helps.

Hi Guys,
Having some problems with keyless go on my '06 e55k. Can't open doors or boot with keyless go, have to press the button on the key. Engine starts from gear knob though. Problem seems to hv started when I removed the rear battery for charging. Any ideas anyone? Thanks.

I agree with Edouble nickel, although it's not the whole handle it's just the black release button on the inside of the handle of the drivers door.
I had mine changed and the whole keyless system seems to be working fine since?

There is a small contact switch on the shifter that went bad on mine. I too could get it to shut off most tomes by holding down the STOP button and jiggling the shifter. Eventually that stopped. I even tried conact cleaner on the switch but eventually I had to have the whole shifter mechanism replaced. Part is about $300 and labor was about the same if I remeber correctly.
Well, the keyless go "engine start" function finally went out completely. Door opening works fine on both sides. I cant even start it by hitting the switch and jiggling the shifter incessantly anymore. Just have to use a key for awhile like most mortals. What a bummer! Such a cool feature, and then totally not cool when you have to replace it. I dont think its something that should normally go out and seems like a design flaw in the 04. I have 145k miles on the car, so maybe I'm due, but come on... I guess I'll have to spend $600 to get that little switch fixed.
