E63 Resonator and Secondary Cat Delete

Finally going to bite the bullet since this procedure is reversible if I don't like it. I called HMS Motorsports and they say this will cost $650. Is this a fair price? This seems kind of steep, but I hear they are a very good shop.

I did a search and couldn't find any recommendations for a muffler shop in the Orange County area. If someone knows of someone that can do a good job who is reasonably priced, please chime in. I am going to embed a video of what I want my E63 to sound like.

I think it's a little steep on the price, maybe $100 to much if that.

I don't know how much it costs to delete secondary cats, but my resonator delete cost $60 at a muffler shop. Another $600 for a secondary cat delete sounds expensive.

His wife crazy
My cat and resonator delete ran $550.00, 3" stainless steel all the way, and a custom x pipe. I wanted to retain the bolt on/bolt off, of the stock system.

I had my resonator taken out the day I picked up the car. It sounds unbelievable!! Sounds even better than the w212 e63. No sound clips yet.

Went ahead and took my car down to HMS Motorsports in Westminster and got this done. I removed the resonator and secondary cats. After 3 full days with it now, I have to say it was money well spent! At first, I was kinda disappointed because it wasn't crazy loud (while in park). Then I put the car in gear and drove it around. THIS IS HOW THE CAR SHOULD HAVE SOUNDED FROM THE FACTORY!!! Yaye, finally! I get great exhaust sound throughout the whole power band. It is also pretty quiet at highway cruising speeds and it dosesn't over power the radio/blue tooth. Great mod, and thanks HMS (Edison and the boys).

Next month....RIMS!

I concur. Quiet at idle and cruise speeds until it down shifts pass 2500 rpm through red line. It sounds like a monster from the outside. No power change that I can tell only an intoxicating sound to bury the throttle.....I think it actually sounds meaner than my Vette....

having an X-pipe or H-pipe in place of your resonator is a bit of a waste. it is pretty far down the exhaust stream to effectively provide scavenging. in addition the secondary cats have a built in H-pipe. if you remove your secondaries and have removed your resonator you'll have a pretty beastly sounding E63.

I have my resonators deleted and just had them run straight pipes for basically the reason Barry said. Paid $150 to have it done at a local muffler shop.
