As for changing the paint, you will be ruining the resale value of this car.
Wasn't me who said that. I know its not worth what it used to be at all. Wasn't 130 either but still wasn't me.

My title says gray so that's why I'm leaning more towards the gray scheme.

Not looking to sell anytime soon either.

I'll spray it in the booth but I will wetsand after primer and after clear.

That white does look really clean and nice. Can't see how flat it is from the picture on my phone screen, will have to hop on computer.

And to all who say change up the wheels, I'm not against that, just haven't found a style I really like. Plus I'm a big fan of the stock AMG wheel.

And that video of the viper burnout does suck. A wheel was off the road and didn't spin.

Mercedes did do a red W11 E55. Its a bright red called Bordeaux. Not many of them around. My local dealer had one for a long time and could not move it. Something to consider.

It's hard for me to tell the differences between Flint Grey, Tectite, and the Designo on a monitor. Which pops the most? Does the Designo flex any other shades in the day/night?

I'm liking the rare factor of the Designo color

2006 CLS55 AMG Sold 2010 E550 Coupe totaled '13 SL550 current and loving it!
I would go with nice blue like either the new Lambo Matte Blue or Monteray Blue. Porsche Cobalt blue is amazing also. A lot of red requests, I don't think this car is sporty enough for red. The grey pictured above is just another form of silver. If your going to paint it...PAINT IT!

E55 then E63, now back to an E55
On the first page, is that the same Grey E55 repeated three times ??
The rims appear the same, but the calipers are all different colors....

Yeah same car. Owner is on here but I *think* car is gone now. I do like blue and will have to get some photoshops going.

I went to the paint store today and checked out the paint chip books. They didn't have the Designo gray color. Is it matte?

There was a guy who painted his C32 AMG the BMW color "Laguna Seca Blue". I thought that looked pretty good. But it is definitily a very bright and loud color. I don't think I would paint it that color. I'll see if I can find the pics.

Edit: found them http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthr...&highlight=c32

I still say go Red. I thought the whole point is to be different so doing the MB grey color is not that different.

I always loveddd laguna seca blue. Always wanted an M3 in LSB. However, I don't think that light of a blue will look right on an E55.

I'm thinking white now. Not matte though. Any ideas on which white?

My vision for white is some flavor of white, keep all the chrome trim except matte black grill and badges. Same white on the insides of the stock wheels and the calipers sprayed with a purple-to-green chameleon paint. Gloss black roof and set the suspension a bit lower.

Thoughts?

No no no! As long as the paint isn't peeling–existing paint, especially OE, is THE best primer! You'd just be throwing $$ down the drain.
