Custom Respray E55
Hey all,
Thought I registered for the forums awhile ago, but I guess I forgot what email address I even used and have been lurking for awhile.
I have a Silver E55 with Black int. Bone stock. I am thinking of doing a full respray paintjob on the car. I'll pull everything off the car, including the motor to get all the jambs and do it right. Sanding down to bare metal also.
It's in excellent condition right now, but I just am tired of a silver car and want a change. I've owned a bunch of highly modified cars with crazy paint schemes and want to do the Benz too.
What colors do you all think would look best on an E55 with stock wheels? I wouldn't mind also painting the wheels.
Any pictures/photoshops much appreciated. Thanks

If you do it, do it right, and go for a unique color! It will cost you a pretty penny either way. I'd be doing the exact same thing if I had a silver car.
How about an old school estoril blue? Like the e36m3. I remember seeing a thread recently somewhere with that color on an e92. Or the Imola red as suggested previously. Or wrap it in matte black.
Good luck.

I like the stock wheel look don't need to change them for now. Check out my youtube ras188gto if you don't believe me. I've had 600,700 and 800whp toys.
Thanks all for the suggestions. Please keep them coming! I'm very indecisive when it comes to something like this. When I spray a car, I do it right and for me that includes sanding to bare metal and pulling everything off.

Wowww yeah its hard to imagine what these colors actually look like on the car. And then there's do I paint the chrome trim body color or leave it. Anyone know what color those pictures I posted are? Is it stock gray color?

E55, Supercharged Z4 (sold)
I can't vote for red, it just doesn't fit the car in my opinion. I have Tectite gray and love it. I vote some sort of dark grey and then get a real good detail person to wet sand and buff with a rotary to get rid of all orange peel and really give it awesome depth. I know a guy but he's in Knoxville, TN.

Ha ha! Was that you narrating this video?! This car was never $130,000, and now it is more like a $30,000 car.

As for changing the paint, you will be ruining the resale value of this car.

If you're spending all that time/money on a "noticeably" different paint scheme you should get a nice set of wheels.... i'm not hating but i see this useless without a change in wheels.
