Non MB related - Anyone have experience with Early 90's Range Rover Classics
I've always loved the classic look and need a snow car for the winter months.
Found what looks like a clean 1992 Rage Rover Classic that I'm going to look at today. I read online about checking shifting etc.
Any enthusiasts on hear with tips on what to check ?
Its cheap <3K so know it won't be perfect but looking for big ticket $$ warning signs.

Interestingly enough I am in a similar market. Good, Fun, Reliable, Cheap to fix and would be fun in the summer potentially or camping and hunting.
Here is the conclusion I have come to.
Jeep Wrangler I6, Manual, 4x4, Hard Top or Soft. YJ or TJ as both have almost the exact same powertrain setup. If you maintain it and buy with the I6 they do not really depreciate either. Its a great car for the money.
If you are tall IE over 6'2 its not going to be a comfortable car, so in that case Jeep Cherokee 98-2002 which can be found with 120k miles for sub $3k!
Either of these two cars if bought correctly will run for 250k miles easy!
If these cars are too "Cheap" then probably a 4Runner or a Tacoma or Diesel American Truck (Ford Power Stroke or Ram Cummins)
