Help me understand Lsd in e55??

i see plenty of videos of stock e55 doing burnouts and its always 2 tire marks which would mean it does have lsd but from reading here people are saying it doesnt have an lsd

also plenty of vids of the car drifting in stock form wouldnt that be very hard-impossible to do if it had no lsd?

please someone educate me thanks

The car uses the brakes to slow down the wheel that is spinning, transferring the wasted power to the wheel with grip. However, it has a hard time transferring the power if both rear tires are on different surfaces, or if you stand on the gas and one tire immediately starts spinning while the other stays planted. It's not a true LSD, but it does work well for what it is.

Both the CLS55 and E55 share the same components, engine, tranny and suspension. The E55 will lay down two burnout marks, if you put your foot into it. My E63 and C63 will do it without hasitation.

If there is a large difference in traction you will feel one tire spin for a short time while the SBC unit figures out what's going on. 99% of the time both tires will spin, but you will definitely feel the 1% they don't, usually from a dead stop or a slow roll on cold tires. Again, this is only for fractions of a second to 1 or 2 seconds in extreme cases. Otherwise these cars act just like they have an LSD, and they will absolutely slide around and spin both tires in a turn.

when i installed mine, night and day diffrence, before if a hammer it from a stop it will turn me to on fo the sides even if i control it as much as i can, but after installing the LSD. it doesnt flip to a side but goes on and the launch is much better.

if your car is heavly tuned you need it.

i finally felt it -- when the street was wet -- my car started to fishtail all over the place and I was only going in a straight line --- under dry conditions I can not feel it or see evidence of it = twin burnouts
