2006 E55 help

I purcahsed an E55 in March and in 3000 miles my engine blew with 79,000miles on it I waited 3months and spent $17,900 at a MB dealership to finish job they said was covered for 6months aginst mechanical failure I pick up car and drove it less then 300 miles and it blew again, bent rod and parts blown out of bottom of engine. They day was perfectly sunny and I was on a highway which it was recovered from by a tow truck. I figured I would be fine and they would just have to do job over again and I would just be out my car for anothe long period of time (they never did offer me a loner) come to find out they had an inspector look over engine and he said the motor got hydrolocked and is not covered. Does any one else find this odd that on a highway on a sunny day I hydrolocked my engine. My car is completly stock. Everything is documented. In their report there isn't even a picture of the air filters which are K&N and IMO if water was pulled thru them there would be discoloration where it passed thru the oil soaked filter. Looking for somone qualifed to inspect this engine and a good lawyer to take this case. Any help anyone can give me would be greatly apperciated.

Having to fight these situations is always tough. If you have insurance on the vehicle they will cover this repair. As far as it hydrolocking there are other ways in which your motor can hydrolock other than water getting sucked in. Any liquid that finds its way into your cylinder can cause your engine to hydrolock, it doesnt have to come from out the engine. I had a Fuel pressure regulator fail on my race car and I hydrolocked the engine during a burnout and had a very similar result. My car was running Methanol and was moving a lot of volume at a very high pressure but it managed to destroy my engine. No matter what the liquid is, whether it is anti-freeze, fuel, water, anything, it cannot be compressed by the piston and will therefore destroy your engine.

Good luck with getting everything resolved.

The report says it was hydrolocked thru intake tubes.

I would call MBUSA and make a pretty good stink about it. Ask for a AMG representative to be sent down, to look at your engine and make his determination, and not the dealership. I would gather as much information, and documentation to support your case. Hopefully, you will get some resolution. Keep us posting on the outcome.

Thanks Yuillie36 I call MB USA they opened a case on this. I could totally see if it was rainig and/or I drove thru a large body of water up to the intake tubes but chances are they would have towed car out of that body of water. It kills me the horror stories people have with dealerships not standing behind their work I feel they just put motor in but did not rectify the reason the prior one blew, 300 miles is a very short distance to travel and have a major failure.

you have a very long road ahead of you my freind
my advice get a lawyer.

I doubt MBUSA would support your case. The car is out of warranty.
For $17,900 why couldnt they find a used M113K motor.
I doubt the (morons)techs at MB can assemble a AMG block
They cant even get the oil level right in the last 3 times i had a oil change there.

The car may be out of warranty, but automakers care about their dealership's reps. An unhappy customer is not a repeat customer.

It was a used engine with 73,000 miles and a 6 month warranty and the real other kicker is I have an aftermarket warranty that was going to supply this dealership an engine with a 500$ profit for the dealership in it but the dealership decided to supply the motor cause it wasen't enough profit so now the warranty company says we didn't supply motor it's up to the dealership
To cover it and if the warranty company did supply it they would be replacing it they said.

I would make THEM explain how water got in there. They assembled the engine. You can document how the weather was during the 300 miles you drove it. If it was dry and if you were operating it in a reasonable fashion (meaning not driving through standing water), it's going to look like something was wrong with the engine when they put it together. All that being said, though, this doesn't really add up in my mind. How could the engine get to 79,000 miles without blowing, then blow within 3000 miles of you having it, then blow again after another 300 miles? That's two engines in 3,300 miles. Sounds like this isn't the full story? Not suggesting anything, but like I said, it doesn't add up.

Right it doesn't add up car was towed on a sunny day which was easily documented from
The side of the highway I was on no rain no water anywhere close to be found with a huge trail from where engine blew to side of road. The motor the dealership installed was used I feel they just replaced engine and never found the reason the first one blew they had car for three months before I got it back.

Nope, they installed the block. With any used engine, they should have done a leak down/compression test to determine if this used motor was any good.

Get a lawyer, the dealer will say you drove a puddle of Johnny Walker to get out of paying for a new motor.
