I'm on Thurston.
I run a small training business, so I don't commute. That may be why you never see me around here (plus, I'm usually driving my '72).
Did the Bethesda commute for too many years when I was in healthcare IT. Not anymore

The guy that drives the G500 is the owner of that gated mansion on Thurston that was completed about a year ago about a 1/4 mile from where it meets 109. Sick house.
I have to admit, I've tossed the SL600 around on Thurston a few times, pretty bendy road. They've started tagging cars with radar now, so now I just cruise back there. That, and the deer that hurdled my E500 made me reconsider my driving habits on that road.
If you ever see my E500 or (hear) my SL600, give me the finger, so I know for sure it's you.
I'll be looking for your new wagon.

Thurston is a great road. No cops on it other than commuting times. I have hammered everything I own on that road As a matter of fact, there are some fresh marks on it in front of my driveway.
Deer are always an issue. 2 of our benzes have met those furry forest rats - my 06 E55 and the wife's 06 ML500. My E55 hit wasn't bad, the ML500 was over $4k in parts/labor.

My E500 got hit by a deer right there on 109 where it meets Thurston. $9000.00, thank you very much. God, I hate those effing things. They're pretty scary up close, BTW. Especially when you think you've killed it with your German missile, then get out of your car and walk up to it, only to have it snap to attention, snort at you, and gallop off into the woods.
I did see some fresh tire marks up and down the road today. Someone's been busy.

They have a new hiding place, too.
If you're heading south and bust through the S right after Dixon, they sit on Peters and shoot towards the S curve because people fly through there and hammer it on the short straight before the sharp turn at Peters... that's kind of rambling, but if you know the side roads off Thurston you know where they can sit.

I put a 9mm behind the ear of the one I "bumped" in my E55. It was alive after I hit it, but it wasn't going to run anywhere.
Just trying some different launch techniques with the stock tires.

Oh my goodness, these things look so killer with wheels and a lowering. I'm not sure if you plan on doing wheels but if so you gotta let us hook you up:

Wow. Any other pics of that W212? I would never own another black vehicle, but that is a really nice combination of wheels/wagon.
