ok try this. jack front left of the car until the wheel is off the ground. grab the wheel with both hands and see if there is any play. grip it at different positios to check for play. do the same thing on the passenger side. report back

Does it "creak" or "squeak". Creaking from front of car when turning (can be hearding @ low speeds or at stand still and turning wheel) may be the steering rack mounting plate. Relatively cheap repair......I think there is DTB it......

Had my '06' at the dealer last month for the same thing. Sounds exactly like an old screen door that needs oil. Said they couldn't duplicate the noise so I took the SA to the car, started it, turned the wheel and there it was. It's not intermittent. After another day in the shop they said they can't find what's causing the noise but everything is, "OK".
Not a very annoying noise so I'm just going to wait it out and get it fixed under my extended warranty if and when it gets worse.

Easy.
Take it to another dealer or another, until one of them does the repair.
The first dealership I took my car to for the airmatic check said nothing was wrong (although I knew a leak had started).
A month later, car was slammed on driver side.
Took to a different dealer. Replaced, fully covered under factory warranty.
